There is a of character I want to bring people's attention to. This is by no means my favorite character, but I just want to point out some things... just cause.

Alyssa - the evi little brat who tried to capture the HiMEs for her personal gain...
She's a child, still in elementary school. And all she wants is acceptance from her father figure. It hasn't been made clear to me if that bigwig of the Searrs Foundation was her biological father, so I have always assumed she was just a test-tube baby that was brought up just to be a tool. And all this tool wanted was acceptance/approval from her father. I don't think she has fully grasped what is "right" and what is "wrong". She is young, and all she knows is that "father wants these HiMEs". So yeah, she did cause some catastrophic events to happen... but I don't really think I could blame her.

As for my favorite character... I can't say I have one in HiME-verse. ^-^;
There are a number of characters that I either like or can relate to.

Honestly there weren't enough moments between Alyssa and Joseph Greer to justify her actions. Like you said, too young to full grasp what is "right" and what is "wrong". No talking crickets to tell little Alyssa otherwise; what we get is an artificial being who agrees with everything she says.

I don't think any amount of moments would be able to justify her actions. But I believe that when she grows up and she reflects back on her childhood, she'll realize her mistakes and try to atone for them. That, of course, is just my opinion.

I just wanted to point out how her character does have layers and try to analyze what they were, even though Sunrise never delved into them. :3

Mayhaps I will do a more proper psycho-analysis for her one day. XD

xD You may have to accomplish that Dye, as I currently see Alyss Searrs as someone who didn't have much motivation for this 'Golden Age' she wanted to realize. To your advantage, Mai Tokiha saw the good in her that the others didn't see, but I'm sure you can do better than "SHE SINGS SUCH BEAUTIFUL SONGS! SHE CAN'T BE TRULY EVIL!"

favourite characters? in a nutshell, Mai and Tate. Mai cause she's awesome, hard working, loyal, and all that good stuff (and i love her hair >_>) and Tate because i am very much like him and i understand how he thinks.

Hmmm this is hard. I like pretty much all characters with the exception of Sideburns. Though I like him better after re-watching the anime a lot. For an highschool kid he's alright but his bratty attitude needs some spanking!

My all time favs would have to be Shizuru and Takeda though. Dangerous mental breakdown and comic relief. Awesome combo.

Followed closely by Lingerie Fetish, Forever Young, Can't Stop Licking my Hands and Walking Dyslexia.

lol those nicknames are just classic xD bwahahaha. i could call Tate sideburns, but i had a teacher in highschool who i called that, so i can't really do it... lol. walking dyslexia you say? as opposed to a flying type? xD haha. your post made me laugh, such good stuff xD
