Re: Mai Multiverse Holiday shack [Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc.]
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Here is my little video dedicated to this commercialized day:
Happy Valentine's Day 2012 [Mai-HiME]
Hey everybody! Though Valentine's Day is very commercial to me, there are people who care about the holiday and are personally qualified to celebrate it. But if Valentine's Day is going to be taken seriously, why should it stop at lovey dovey couples? Like on any other day, there is love shared between friends as well. You'll notice several pairings from Mai-HiME, representing different aspects of love suitable for such a day.
Chie and Mai - Friendship.
Akane and Kazuya - The lovey dovey couple everybody loves or loves to hate. XD
Yukariko and Ishigami - The adults.
Mai and Tate - Someone whose lost someone they love and continue thinking of him or her each day.
Haruka and Yukino - When someone you had a fight with or needed a break from returns back into your life.
Shizuru and Natsuki - When someone forgives the one they love for doing something horrible. The act of forgiveness.
There are many ways to express your love for someone, just don't let it be confined to this specific day. :)
Song: "Molly" from the 'Ghost' 1990 movie soundtrack.
---
Was it a great Valentine's Day for me? Honestly, it didn't feel like I had one! XD Between dealing with my father's recovery and my girlfriend busy with her studies, we didn't have much time to be together. But heck, everyday is Valentine's Day for us. Why does the 14th need to be the only day to show affection? XD; To me, Valentine's is the only day that will leave tons of discount candies on sale the following day. *_*

Cool! Higurashi was okay. I could do an Elfen Lied marathon if it weren't so depressing. I'd rather be entertained on Halloween, than wallow in angst. XDKonaxookami wrote:As for the holiday itself...I'll probably just go as one of my closet cosplays. I'd do Haruka's Silver Millennium tunic-thing but I don't know if I'll have time to finish it, and it'll probably be too drafty for night time. >>;;
*o* THIS. JUST THIS. >_> If it'll be possible.
For Halloween I might dress up as Jigsaw (or John Kramer) from Saw and wander around the mall/friend's party holding my Jill Tuck plush. XD Should be awesome. All I need is a bald cap.
Also I spent some time going through my entire VHS/DVD collection and narrowed down my Halloween marathon with the following films:
Child Play 3
New Nightmare
Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood
Halloween
Nightmare on Elm Street
Puppet Master II
Scream 4
look at me, Halloween is six months away and I'm just now talking about it. Oh well, no fun holidays for me until it gets here so I might as well have some fun. Nice selection you got there Luu, pretty rare to find a fan of the Puppet Master film series and great to see someone who also likes the 7th Friday the 13th film, one of my all time favorites as well if only for Jason's design and to see him finally take a severe beating

Don't kill me now, brother, but my favorite Friday the 13th film is Takes Manhattan. There's nothing like a finale in a setting AWAY from Crystal-freakin'-Lake for once. Yes, I said FINALE, because everything made by New Line Cinema can kiss my ass except for Freddy vs. Jason.
All right, maybe it's a personal guilty pleasure to fantasize about the android girl from Jason X. *UGH* Damn, that wasn't easy to admit in public.
Oh yeah, I love the Puppet Master films! The first five, Vs. Demonic Toys (dude, it's so godawful it's epic) and the new Axis prequel (even though it could of been better). Full Moon is a struggling little company always saving up their ink fund payments to bring us another entry in the Puppet Master series. *sniff* So noble.

Hey nothing wrong with Takes Manhattan its something of a guilty pleasure these days. One of the biggest surprises for the anime community is that the girl Jason kills with the Guitar is also one of the most well known dub actresses in the Ocean Group, Ms. Saffron Henderson herself. Known to most audiences for voicing Noin in Gundam Wing, young Gohan, and Sota in Inuyasha.
Sorry I don't feel the same about New Line Cinema as they've been very good to the horror fanboy in me over the years, as for Freddy Vs. Jason. I'm just glad it finally happened, as this may have been Robert Englund's swan song as Freddy, all the great moments, and a really killer soundtrack, probably one of my all time horror movie soundtracks right up there with Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight and Bride of Chucky
Hey as for Jason X and its android girl, there are worse things to feel a perverse sexual attraction too. Its also fine because Kay-Em pretty much destroyed Jason in their first round. My only issue with Jason X is thats where they changed up Jason's design and did away with his raggedy blue outfit and gave him a green jacket and matching clothes for some odd reason. I also consider Jason X to be hilarious in hindsight after seeing a skit on MAD TV where Jason kills people in space on board the Apollo spacecraft.
I love Full Moon as well. The Puppet Master series truly is their heart and soul and I am truly happy to have gotten a dvd with the first three films on them in a Wal-mart discount bin. Best six bucks I've ever spent. I really wish I had gotten into their Demonic Toys series as well as Bloodstone: Subspecies, Totem, Professor Morded, and many others. I hope that the recent Puppet Master film will be a sign of more things to come from them

Re: Mai Multiverse Holiday shack [Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc.]
So, this is 8 days late... but April 20th marked 1 year I had been on MM. Gods, soooooo much has happened since then, no? I mean, I never expected going from the down-and-out state I was in in El Paso, TX to the girl I am today. I'm thankful for everyone, the good, bad, ugly, and absolutely wonderful whom have helped shaped me into who I am today. I am very proud of myself, and though I am not perfect/make perfect decisions I still feel like I've done all I can do and I regret nothing. I wish I had known some things before and there are people I miss with every waking breath, but I'm stronger now than I ever imagined and I go on.
I'm so glad Luu contacted me on dA about the forum, the people I met, and the people I've lost. I wish I could do more for some people, but I can't do everything.
Thanks to everyone, every event, and just... thanks for helping me become more of whom I want to be and glad to BE me.
I love myself, and I treasure everyone. For better or for worse, MM is a part of me. I am proud to be a Column, I am proud to be the Resident HaruKino Fanwhore, and I am glad to be MidnightPersona a.k.a. Raven Armitage... and I've also become proud to be Raven Razor.
*hugs y'all* Thanks to everyone for helping me learn and grow. Luu helped me the most.

Re: Mai Multiverse Holiday shack [Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc.]
Halloween is on the way! Any MM Superstars have anything planned for the occasion? My friends at work are dragging me to a massive Halloween parade over in the next town. Should be a blast! Sadly I will not dress myself up this year. XD My Ghost Face costume last year was just due to Scream 4 fever. Plus I didn't have my girlfriend to dress as Jill Roberts with me. ;_;

Ah, well Expo is on the 26/27/28th so I'm cosplaying as No-Face because he is awesome and Im a cheapskate
and on Samhain itself, I'm going to the London Dungeons with a group of friends and some family of various people, then the Jack the Ripper walk...and yes we shall all be looking spiffing as we shit ourselves in fear (I'm terrible with live-action horror stuff goodgod)

XD No-Face IS awesome! Take photos please so that I may worship them~ Being a cheapstake on Halloween is becoming standard lately. Before anime conventions existed, people were more creative with their costumes. Nowadays, people around my city wear the most generic costumes. Basic vampire, werewolf, Frankenstein monster or total slut. The more creative costumes went towards cons, hence COSPLAY. If anything, Anime conventions are the REAL Halloween. o.o

XD Can't argue with family tradition. In my day, my parents dragged me around everywhere to parties of all kinds. Socializing with people (mostly adults) who share the same mind. Halloween parties were fun though, the adults always brought their kids with them. ;_; I stole so many candies back in the day. REGRETS? NAY.
Re: Mai Multiverse Holiday shack [Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc.]
This year, since I've got a touch up show on Halloween, I think I'm just gonna go with being Ron Weasley (AVPM Version) during classes. Eating Red Vines and being a loser in class. It's gonna be good. My theater gang should get a good laugh out of it for sure.

Re: Mai Multiverse Holiday shack [Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving etc.]
I'm not doing much for Halloween this year except pigging out on obnoxious amounts of candy in one night. However, I am doing a list of 31 Halloween writing prompts that are for the most part turning out to be how I wish I could spend Halloween and the month of October. It's not really that serious of a project though. I just wanted something to write for fun; my NaNo project this year will hopefully be developed into something worthy of getting published as I keep working on it and I needed a break from what will one day be a serious source of income.
So, yes, I'll likely spend my Halloween writing about how I want to spend it instead of actually going out and doing it myself.

You do look kinda like Weasley, Alex. O_o; Only attractive.

Pigging out on candies and writing is a fun way to spend your Halloween, I'd say. You're always writing year round, but everything is better with candy.

As much as I want to celebrate Halloween, the community in my place doesn't celebrate it. Well, if you count malls celebrating it. Heh, I want to try and dress up, but then I'm broke so I might not celebrate since the All Saints' Day and the All Souls' Day are what we usually take notice.
My mom would try to drag to her Halloween party, maybe.

You don't HAVE to go to the Halloween party, right? XD You don't sound all too excited for it to begin with. I mean, you're 16 now Ruby, you should have say in where you wanna go. >:3

I know. But then, it's a different experience to celebrate Halloween. I just don't have the thing for parties.

What kind of haunted areas reside in your area? I figure you'd just want to pass out candies to hundreds of ankle biters.
