>3< They won't, Kaichou. My memory may suck just as much as yours, but I don't remember any past GTA game ever being pushed back, so we're good.

Well, it's already been pushed back iirc, but hopefully they won't do it again, roll on Sept 17th x_x...as long as it is released for the 360 and not the Xbox One I'll be happy :3
Speaking of which, you guys seen the new Xbox? It's so boring looking >_>

Xbox One is the most generic name they could give it.
^^; Now what the heck am I supposed to call the first Xbox that came before Xbox 360? I've been calling that one "Xbox 1" forever! Anyway, I don't particularly enjoy the design on the new console. Have you also read that it will not be backwards compatible like the PS4? Not a good start for either console.

I was watching the "big" reveal and it was one disappointment after the other. It looks like a VCR, it has to be connected to the internet at least once a day, you can't use used games without paying a fee; the kinect camera always has to be used; the only games mentioned are sequels (and Halo only seems to be getting a TV series)
[I'll wait until E3 to really be bummed out about the games though]; Nobody in Japan likes it and the main feature MS were showing off was the TV which for now is only "Good news" to Americans. I wish MS would fight the proper battles. They're supposed to be going against Sony not Apple or Google with this system.
(Truth be told, I'm a Sony girl through and through, but I do like the 360, and might get one for Halo, Gears and Forza. I doubt I will buy an Xbox one though... or as the Japanese call it "Once Divorced")
Re: Video Gaming Discussion and Reviews Thread
I don't know, J, maybe I'm just at the end of my rope with video games. Xbox 360 is the highest I can possibly go without venturing into latest technology territory. I'm not a "Sharper Image" type of guy; I don't need the latest devices and consoles in a hurry. Consoles to me are forgetting what they are for: Gaming. If they can do everything if not more than a PC/laptop, then what's the point? To get the latest Resident Evil or Bayonetta? No thanks. The only way I can find myself playing an Xbox One is if I happen to run into one or if my gf wants one for her birthday and I end up playing it when I visit her country. Even then, there will be no desire to pick one up.
I was thinking of switching to handhelds from now on. PS Vita has some pretty interesting titles.

Re: Video Gaming Discussion and Reviews Thread
Truth be told, I can be a sucker for hich spec graphics, but at the end of the day, what I want is a good story line. I doubt I'll be getting an Xbox One and so far the PS4 games that look interesting (all by Ubisoft) are also going to be released on PS3, so I won't be there at early adoption.
XD I just got an e-mail from Sony advertising it's Vita. It seems to have not sold that many consoles, which is a damn shame because it looks like a promising platform. I have yet to get it because of my PSP and the need to play Bioshock Infinite, but if they improve the compatibility between the PS3 and Vita, then I think I will also purchase a Vita. I think I saw a demo where the Vita playing (gah can't remember the fighting games name) was hooked up to a PS3 also playing the game. I thought it was a neat idea, to be able to use the Vita as an extra controller if needed. One concept I would truly love, is if the Vita (or perhaps a tablet or phone) could be used to view the map of whatever game was being played on the PS3. Like GTA, instead of constantly having to flick between full screen map and gameplay, you could just see your dot moving on the map, on the Vita.
Kino is a PC gamer all the way (unless it's Nintendo handhelds. She's currently using my DS for Pokemon Silver). So if I was ever to get a next gen gaming platform, it would be a high spec PC. Looking at all the Steam discounts and how they're improving the PC gaming franchise, it seems to me buying a PC is less of a hassle. It would probably be cheaper too, what with now having to spend money on a console that also, unnecessarily plays TV at the same time as skype calls.

Re: Video Gaming Discussion and Reviews Thread
I'd like to say that I won't be getting any of the new consoles, because they really do seem to be moving too far away from gaming and it's irritating...but I know that I will probably end up with at least one of them at some point.
The amount of focus on Kinect with the Xbox bugs me though...I like having an actual controller and if I wanted to be waving my hands around I'd just play the Wii.

Re: Video Gaming Discussion and Reviews Thread
Modifications like that could be done for the Vita. You see similar features on iPhones, so it's not farfetched. Just apply them to your favorite games with heavy maps like GTA as you mentioned, or even Final Fantasy.
I'm with Koi on the console business, but I could revert back to PC gaming like Maria (Kino) is accustomed to. The girl could play Diablo for HOURS last time we spoke. XD We'll see, PC gaming is an acquired taste for me. Not because it's bad, but because when I think of my PC and laptop, I think about all the other shit I do on it EXCEPT gaming. XD

My take on Bioshock Infinite...
@Luu I'm also with Koi. There's a high percentage that I might give in and get the PS4 slim, but I'd have to be really into the games available.
I've never liked PC gaming ether. There's something about the keyboard that I find intimidating. Maria tried to get me into Diablo 2, but I just couldn't. (Plus she knew all the places front to back, so she went way too fast for me, which put me off ). Make more PC games useable with a controller, and ensure that Steam's big screen ability actually work, then I'll be right there in the world of PC gaming. Preorder prices of both next gen consoles are £399, so with that kind of money, might as well buy a high spec PC.

Re: Video Gaming Discussion and Reviews Thread
Don't forget, PC gaming will advance in graphics much faster than the consoles will. Graphic cards continue to update constantly. That is, if graphics are your calling. I've read many articles where PC gamers proudly bragged that gourmet mainstream titles like Call of Duty MW, Gears of War, lady fumi of War and the rest have prehistoric graphics compared to the exclusive PC line up and ports of console games. The proof is in the screenshots, so I believe them. I just never place graphics above gameplay, it's actually the other way around.
What PC gaming does offer is a wider variety of games and modes. You can't add customization skins and mods on the console version of Street Fighter IV. On the PC, sky's the limit!

So what is the general consensus regarding the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy over here? Frankly I remember when the compilation of Final Fantasy VII caused a huge sh!t storm so I find this hate for the XIII trilogy to be bordering on irrational now. And the more I see of Lightning Returns the more I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I can smack Caius around some more.

Eh, I don't mind them for the most part. I just don't think the last game was very good, despite trying to have a lot more diversity in the gameplay. The first Final Fantasy 13's charm was it's simplistic, linear yet beautiful universe. The story has gotten a little wonky since the first game as well, making less sense with the time paradox jargon as it goes along. Still, I see these games for what they are first: games. Lightning Returns looks like it'll be fun, so I'll definitely pick it up on release day.

Well, I'm such a delirious fan of FF XIII that I really can't wait for the new game.
I just hope that I'll give me my happy ending that I've been yearning since the first one. T^T

Oh you're just biased, Neko. >:3 You'd buy Lightning, Fang and Vanille pencil cases and toothbrushes if they existed! But I can tolerate you seeing how we're friends. :) And yes, I am also hoping for a happy ending for the 13 series.

:'3 It's definitely not the nose hairs. And considering how Mediterranean Fang looks, her hairs must be untrimmed~

There's a difference...
They're just each other to please around. I'm just a mere guardian, just as ShizuNatsu.

Final Fantasy = What taught me most in reading and I eventually used in learning to write.
Played all the console games basically, I'm glad XIII became a trilogy.
I know Square-Enix surprised me once by doing a sequel to my favorite game.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Made me happy to see such a nice story continued.
XIII needed a trilogy and I want to play the 3rd part now.:D
Um.. for PC gaming isn't there a way to use Xbox360, PS3 controller on it?
My girlfriend set her's up to play games with it.
She's better with technology than I in general.
I'm just a better gamer.
I can ask her later but when discussions involve how do you do this or that, her words are WAY over my head.
I like to learn to do these things instead of asking.
I like to do certain things myself.:D
