This thread will only celebrate Homura and her relationship. :3 So why do Homusexuals love Miss Akemi so much? I guess my reason would be is that Homura has so much appeal as a character. Throughout the series, she acts so cold and distant; almost as if the series wanted us to dislike her. Low and behold, we learned of her true mission to time travel over and over again just to save Madoka's life. Is it selfish? Most fans would think so, but they don't give her credit on caring for others too. She wanted to save the Earth as well, you know. That's why the ending of Rebellion kind of shocked me, but I'll shut up about that. You can find my review on Rebellion in the movie and Madoka thread. Homura is first and foremost a hero to me, trying her hardest to save loved ones, especially Madoka.

Now we get to the fun part! I'll confess, I'm not big on moe like my friend Franny. I prefer older women in any animated series, but Homura is an exception. I do not want to bed her...that's what my Kagura-sama is for:

Homura is more like a stuffed animal you want to hug from time to time. Even during her Tsundere angst moments, she fails to be intimidating. Not to say she isn't intimidating, her powers of time stopping and firing thousands of firearms and explosives is badass! I'm talking about her physical appearance! XDDDD She's too cute no matter what she says or does. JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!!!!:



How can you possibly say "no" to a face like that?! Plus the name Homura AKEMI?! AKEMI?! THAT'S SOOOOO GAYYYYYYYYYYYY! XDDD So what do you think of Homu-chan and her relationship with Madoka? Anyway, back to the topic. While I have yet to sit down and watch Madoka, Homura already has some of my favor with her voice actress being the beloved Lucchini and with her powers/mission. I would easily do the same thing she did for Madoka if it meant being with someone dear again. It is selfish, granted, but f*ck it, thats what humanity is anyway. A giant blob of selfishness and self-preservation at the core,so I understand Homu's reasons.

YET AGAIN! That's what made Rebellion kind of shocking. Homura tried so hard to accomplish a goal that required unselfishness to win. It's not the easiest thing in the world for someone in love to do, but it was necessary. More so when your girlfriend (Madoka) accepts her fate. What happened at the end of Rebellion is both tragic and a beautiful thing to behold. On one hand, Homura has failed us; doomed the planet even further. On the other hand, her strong feelings for Madoka was the cause of it all. Love makes us do the unthinkable (Shizuru...) I argue that her feelings for Madoka continue even now....you'll see what I mean. WATCH REBELLION, FRANNY!!!

I'll get to watch it, real soon. For now, I don't want to shock myself just yet. My friends who've seen it are so mean. I tell them, "STOP!" I honestly don't want to be spoiled.

Well, my friend (who's Filipino-Japanese) and her sibs are to blame. They already saw the movie last November in Japan. When they got back here for Christmas, they did nothing but to troll me. >_<

As some of you have said, it might be selfish, yes, but also it kinda feels like it's selfless. They are giving up like a comfort zone and risking everything to protect what matters the most to them.

I gotta say that Homura kept her cool for a long time. Any other character in her place would have been broken long ago, completely unstable. Darn, we saw it in the anime. Mami completely lost it in one scenario. What about the blue haired girl? Once they knew what it was all about, they just went MAD.
But Homura remained strong, despite seeing her beloved one die time after time. She kept going, with the hope that she could save her. Even if the failed 100 times, by 101 she was sure she'd achieve it.

I admire her so much. That's why she's one of the few Figmas I possess. *3*

I still don't agree that she only cared for Madoka; the people of Earth also mattered. But yes, the people were second to Madoka and that's why the "twist" of Rebellion happened.

I also agree with Neko about Homura being stronger than her magical girl peers. Kyoko was pretty strong herself, but Sayaka and Mami lost their shit in certain timelines. Miss Akemi's been through far worse; this goes beyond the repeated deaths of Madoka. Betrayal, the pent up frustrations, dealing with Kyubey's interventions, the other magical girls making things harder for her...everything cam into play. I admire her courage and determination to look after someone she loved. And yet, I also pity her; for we must sacrifice for the greater good. No matter how much it hurts. Madoka knew this; Homura just couldn't let go.

After watching the anime and Rebellion, I love me some Homu Homu

I feel bad for her since she's been nothing but disappointed and trolled for the entire series (kill that fucker Kyubey, do it!) thus causing her to break and go apeshit like at the end of Rebellion, so I understand where she's coming from and wasn't disappointed, shocked for a little, yes, but that was it. Now I'm just rooting for her happy ending cuz she deserves it and the chance that she'll be the one to rip that white, fluffy cocksucker apart with her bare hands or send him to hell, either way is fine

Again, a happy ending would be ballsy on SHAFT and Aniplex's part. If not, Madoka will be like Evangelion with no proper ending. This is why villains should never win. It's like..."what now?"

Villains have purpose because of the goodie two shoes. You are only complicating the story further by throwing my tragedies into the mix. Let Homura and her friends stand tall over the darkness. After what they've been through, they deserve it.

ikr? he should've said no to Shinbo's suggestion and pushed with that ending. Anyways, it's still good, though. Can't wait for the DVD/BD release. ^_^

Oh for sure! The ending is fine, I just think it's not wise to stretch the story any further. This Sailor Moon-less Earth is pretty much screwed and everyone is doomed. It'll feel like treading water if Homura doesn't

:3 Oh without a doubt, Franny-chan. I just wish she had a happier ending for herself and Madoka. The series should of ended with these lovebirds riding off into the sunset...rather than taking it to the grave~
