On a day to day basis, I try to figure these kinds of yuri couplings out myself. This is a very big exception; being how it's a very popular couple from a Disney animated show.

Let's start from the beginning, was I a big Kim Possible fan? No. The show was a bit annoying when it released and at the time, you were either a Kim fan or a Totally Spies fan. My attention focused on the latter since it was a fetish filled show that amused me to no end. The Kim Possible fandom didn't quite escape me, I was very aware of it and the yuri slash of Kim Possible and arch rival Shego. I didn't really give it much thought because there were more important relationships on my mind ever since discovering anime like...

Wow, from Versailles to Cazador, I've practically kept an open mind almost my entire life.

Anyway that brings me to the famous KiGo. My roommate and ex-girlfriend is a huge fan of the show, so she introduced me to a few "KiGo" episodes. These were the two clips she dug up for me:

I'm curious about that too. I used to be a big fan of Kim Possible AND Totally Spies, but I've never heard of Kigo. I know I really love Shego, but if I had to ship anyone from that show it's her and Drakken.

Although I'm attracted to yuri couples, I really don't see Kim as a lesbian. I personally think she has a secret crush on Ron Stoppable (her best friend/side kick/the guy with the naked mole rat). And do not be confused; I ship a lot of straight couples, but I am really into yuri more.

More on the subject of this thread, I have a couple theories on why people may like this pairing (a couple theories I can't back up of course):

I'm a little tired, so excuse my bluntness and lack of explanation. >.>;;

To be honest with you, I was never really much of a fan for either shows and didn't really care for KiGo until after I read some of those fics. Though, I would say this. If I had to make Kim gay and ship her with someone, the obvious answer to me would be Shego. Why? Because she's the sexy villianess that Kim always inevitably ends up fighting (havin a sexy dance) with.

And on another level, Shego is one of the very very VERY few people who knows what/who Kim Possible really is. No secrets. Everything is out in the open and Kim doesn't really have to worry about keeping her identity hidden.

That's all I can think of right now. XD

Kim getting with Ron is as pathetically retarded as Hermione getting together with Ron in Harry Potter. Both pairings make little sense...

If you ask me I was a KiGo shipper even before to watch the show, I even hate the program... I know you're thinking: wtf? how is that possible? well just one word:

Rinacat (http://rinacat.deviantart.com/) it's her fault! I watched her in DA due to her Raven's pics but then she started to draw KiGo, that's the reason why I hated the show (I know, not too mature) but after some time I saw her drawings based on one fic called my attention... and read it.

After the fic (and some others) I was like: ok, maybe I should watch the show so I watched every chapter, even the 2 movies. That way I could see how Kim and Shego really were and how they act toward the other, my reaction?

I MUST DRAW KIGO!

But why? Well, have you see their fights? They totally flirt with the other! (in a subtle Disney way), and the nicknames Shego call Kim? Honestly I thought that it was a fic thing but no, those are canon!

Perhaps is the Kim is good and Shego's evil, or the fact that those 2 are the greatest fighters in the show and they seems like dancing or even because some don't like Ron, nobody can't deny that is some kind of... ummm I don't know, conection, spark? between Kim and Shego.

And if you ask me, the episode when Shego turned good? It was fanservice for the KiGo fans, or what Disney can give.

I used to watch Totally Spies AND Kim Possible-but I never knew it was you either watched one or the other. xD

As for KiGo...Pretty much what everyone else said-You don't really think about it until you see some fanart or fanfic in your face and you're like, "Oh, I never thought of it that way."

Because as a kid, I definitely shipped Ron and Kim because, you know, I was a kid and I thought Ron was adorable in the goofy sidekick sort of way. But now, as a older teen, I can see the possibilities for other ships. Like KiGo.

As a kid I always thought Shego was a badass, and I sort of thought she was the sexy seductress to the men in the series. Because, honestly? She's hot. Anyone could see that. But when I went back I could totally see the very plausible idea of her being gay. And it makes sense with all of her nicknames and teasing whenever she fights Kim. Besides that, her general disdain of men, when not using them to get what she wants, throws her into the "Is she a...?" category anyways.

As for Kim, she does get into some guy crushes in the show, but they never last. I've always figured she be open-minded anyways, and nowadays I definitely she her being Bi. And if I would ship Kim with anyone but Ron, it would have to be Shego. Whereas Ron sort of lags behind Kim and fills the roll of obligatory best friend goof ball and the shoulder to cry on, Shego is the equal. She can compete with Kim on equal ground, is smart enough to hold her ground in a conversation, and has the personality to match Kim's.

Their fights? The flirting is off the charts. Subtle, but they're pretty much grappling half the time, so it evens out in the physicality level. Besides, I really don't think that Ron would have the guts or the stamina to stick with Kim for good. She's always on the move and such and I don't see chill and go with the flow Ron holding up well with that. Shego? She could keep up, and even step ahead of Kim.

Ship is really formed off the rivalry and friendship/enemy cusp the two are always on, and it really takes a good fanfiction writer or a good artist to make it work in a way that is plausible and understandable.

Or at least that's how I see it anyways. ^^;

It has been a LONG time since I've watched Kim Possible. All of the points you guys brought up? I'd have to re-watch the show for my perspective to even change, and at this point I'm beyond the Kim Possible phase in my life.

If Shego is a lesbian, I have no problems with that. In all honesty, it'd make the show even better. We're talking years since I last watched Kim Possible. The names? The flirting? I don't remember any of it.

@Raven: This is off topic, but I think that if Hermione fell for Ron then she deserves him. Love doesn't always make sense, and yes she may deserve better, but it's what happened. We can't change what the author wrote; we can, however, write fanfiction. Fanfiction is such a lovely freedom that writers have. If a writer wanted, she could put Hermione with a better man, or even a woman. Shizuru Fujino
