"My-HiME" or "Mai-HiME"? How do you address the series?

Mai-HiME, 舞-HiME and My-HiME. 舞-乙HiME, Mai-Otome, My-Otome Zwei, My-Otome 0~S.ifr~? This always bothered me years ago because it meant twice the work in the search engines! When Bandai Entertainment had the series, they preferred to start the entire series with "My", though fans preferred "Mai" as in Mai Tokiha. I always felt this was what Sunrise intended.

What do you think? How do you address the series? HiME

I usually use Mai-HiME as I don't really like My-HiME. I think it's quite possessive...
And even if the meanings are not the same, I'm more tied down to Japanese words beer

Mai-HiME. I'm not comfortable with using "My". Like what Luu-sama said, "Mai" for Mai Tokiha.

Always "Mai". Any Mai-Series that starts with "Mai" :) Using "My" is the newbie way ^_^

Precisely, ladies. To play devil's advocate here for a second, My-HiME also works. Nagi is the only character in the series to reference the title of the series and it works both ways.

His obsession with Mai translates as possession. Hence "My".

The girl he plays favorite with is Mai Tokiha, duh. Hence "Mai".

Either way, she is still a HiME in both scenarios, making it all acceptable. haha!

With that said, Mai-HiME all the way. It's technically correct and what I'm used to.

It's actually Mai HiME to me, without the "-".

XD No need for the "X" mouth, Kino. There's no real wrong to address the series...to me anyway. I'll always know what you're talking about. Pronunciation is another story; there are fans who still call this series "My-Hi-ME"

Yep! Talking about anime, manga or related material here is like I'm talking in moonspeak!

I need to describe it in detail and in slang. And maybe, MAYBE someone will say "oh yeah, I've watched something like that somewhere!"

Mostly I get people saying they know naruto, dragon ball or sailor moon. Because well, Everything as been on a loop here ever since they came out decades ago! We had a channel for anime only for a couple months... Didn't catch on, and it was awful. We also had 2 hours night time for hentai at a well known channel. That was... Well it scared the shit out of me when i was a little kid and tentacles started going places!!!
