Questions about Mai-HiME/Otome Series
Okay, since I'm rewatching Mai HiME I have several questions in my head.
What are the real objectives of the Searrs Foundation? I mean they say they want to bring a golden era. Right, I got that. So much they say. But what does that mean. At one point Alyssa says to Nagi that she wonders who the real monster is: Nagi or them?
I've started to wonder about this too. Aren't they trying to put an end to to Carnival instead of keeping them alive like the first district does?
And I always wonder about the whereabouts of during Mai's Karaoke perfomance
The scene went like this:
Slowly getting in touch
During Mai's performance nowhere to be seen however any other participant is shown (example here: Yukino and sister)
And then sheepishly walking away from each other as if nothing happened. I wonder if this or that happened
(lol this obviously no serious talk. I just noticed and found it funny, whereas I also had to see this
in the very same episode...Nao 1, Shizuru 0

Amaya's Mai-Series related ponderings taken from the Need an answer? Ask questions here! (MAYBE we'll answer...) thread to now becoming it's own subject thread in Mai-HiME/Otome General Forum.
I'll be back with my own answers/comments on the subjects. :)

Re: Questions about Mai-HiME/Otome Series
You know, I never really understood what SEARRS was doing until I watched it in English. From what I gathered, the SEARRS foundation made Alyssa, a fake HiME, to harvest the HiME star's powers for themselves. Probably going to use it to make a new world, like Reito and Nagi were going to. Where they got the notion that they were any less monstrous than Nagi, I have no idea.
Hmm, I don't know where Natsuki and Nao were, perhaps...getting it on in the broom closet in a sudden and unexplainable jump from sleep to horny?

Give credit to any English dub for explaining a plot better, without a lot of technical jargon. Kara pretty much took the text out of my box. In all honesty, what Nagi/Reito made the girls go through was more a nightmare than the SEARRS Foundation takeover. That was an easy battle, fighting amongst friends wasn't. lol

*laughs* They skipped listening to Mai's 'Lovely Intersection' for a reason. It's a close to five minute song, more than enough time to make each other orgasm. :)
Score 2 for NatNao. Just cause I say so.

way to go
I also think that what Searrs did wasn't as bad as what Nagi/Reito did. Geez...there still needs to be a sequel or Movie for Mai HiME. So much potential...

...that was wasted on the manga, including Mai-HiME EXA. XD Nah, j/k, although they could of done better than that. Most of the popularity is geared towards the Mai-HiME anime, so why not take advantage?

I don't know. I think this is a question I'll never get an answer for the rest of my life

Or at least until 20006.
NatNao will be official and Amaya will be long dead. Hope you drift off into hypersleep...
Re: Questions about Mai-HiME/Otome Series
Who/what was the obsidian prince?
What is the hime star and where did it come from?
How was Alyssa created?
What are child/orphans and where do they come from?
The festival occurs every 300 years, how long has this been going?
How do hime powers work?
How are hime chosen?
How long has searrs existed?
What happened to searrs after the series?
How does Akira's family know about the hime stuff?
How deep is the relationship between Midori and Youko?
Is there any hope for YukinoXHaruka?
Was Nagi really working for the obsidian prince or was he a mind controlled pawn?
Where did Nagi and Mashiro go at the end?
And why the hell has Sunrise not made a proper sequel answering all these questions? WHY?!?

They both loved her but grey were on different sides now. Well I think that they were both affraid to be friends concidering their stances.

I think the SEARS wanted to harness the power of the HiME Star to take control of the world and usher in a new age, then again that is every evil organization's plan isn't it

Mags...
...had a question concerning this manga illustration from Mai-HiME:
That shot is actually from Natsuki no Prelude, an official prequel to the Mai-HiME anime in light novel form. It can be found in the second (and official) Mai-HiME artbook.
You can read Natsuki no Prelude at ShizNat Webs: Natsuki ni Prelude

This? Or is it an image from the blasphemous original manga?

I know this is an obvious question, but I want the discussion...why do we hate Shiho?

That question isn't really a question about the series itself. This is a thread for facts people want to know about Mai-HiME/Otome. Like Mai's age, how many episodes Chie appeared in, the serial number Natsuki found in episode 9, etc. Hating Shiho is subjective; there are fans that enjoy Shiho. Use our search engine to find Shiho related threads for multiple answers, but here are my quick thoughts:
I don't hate Shiho. She is vital to the storyline being a HiME and a misguided love interest for Yuuichi Tate, the very guy who our main protagonist also has feelings for. That said, I don't like her as a character. She's clingy, insecure and unable to let go of people who need to live their own lives.

Do we know for certain where Shizuru's HiME symbol is?

I assumed it's on her right arm when she held on to it during the vampire ruse episode.

Location of Mai-HiME symbol birthmarks [Guide]
While not 100% certain for Shizuru, it's the closest evidence we got.

That what we thought once. Or across her abdomen.

Not until Sunrise confirms it publicly. As far as we know from the Mai-Otome Blu-Ray special (which is canon), HiME era Arika is not a homicidal maniac.
