Why do people never get tired of ShizNat?
This is just a random question (may Shizuru and Natsuki forgive me) but why do people never get tired of the same old ShizNat pairing?

honestly, no idea. We probably forgot why we like it the first place, but with the appearance of the couple in fics, fanarts, or some canon posters-- we got reminded of how we love this pairing so much and the reason doesn't even matter anymore xD
Re: Why do people never get tired of ShizNat?
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and give a bit from both sides.
I won't say that people never get tired of Shiznat. I speak this out of experience and others I've talked to: There's a point where things become too much and you've been exposed to something enough where you turn to other things for variety. Shiznat use to be my favorite yuri pairing, but it got to be too much and it seemed like the same thing over and over. However! I am not a negative person as my last topic might make people think. (I just like to show another side of things! Don't kill me!)
I do still like Shiznat, I just don't go out of my way and seek it anymore. Every once in a while, I'll feel like reading something Shiznat or looking at a Shiznat picture. They do have an interesting dynamic that goes a lot deeper than a lot of "catholic school girls that get together;" they have a lot more angles to explore which I know people like to write and read about. There's so much more to their characters than most other popular yuri pairings. =)

Re: Why do people never get tired of ShizNat?
I agree with SpiralDasher. For me, Shiznat is my all-time favorite couple (so far, at least) and it has been for a long time. I'll watch other shows, read other fanfics, and love other pairings. Yorusoi, Canaan/Alphard, Sumika/Ushio, Nellis. I was on a huge Yorusoi kick for awhile, and I still love Yorusoi, but I always go back to Shiznat. I can't have it every day all day all the time (because sometimes I want to play Left4Dead 2 and laugh at possible Nellis moments, instead of watch Mai-Hime), but I'll always love it. There's a special place in my heart for Shiznat. =]
On another level, it may be because Shizuru and Natsuki are my favorite anime characters of all-time. I think they're really likeable and relateable (I'm not sure if I spelled that right, sorry). I also think that they are really great as a couple. I think their personalities fit together like puzzle pieces. =]
On an even deeper level, Shizuru and Natsuki remind me of my girlfriend and me XD which may be kind of silly, but nonetheless a reason why I like Shiznat. =]

Re: Why do people never get tired of ShizNat?
I have several favorite pairings. ShizNat stands out above the lesbian couples in anything I watch because of what they went through in Mai-HiME.
Why ShizNat?
That should explain a good amount. Most of all, why I'm never tired of them. Although, I will offer love for any couple in this series and others. They just happen to be my favorite yuri couple, not overall couple.

because it's a virus...
if you ever get infected:
you can't run away.
you can't hide.
and there's no cure.
okay, i admit:
i watched way to much zombie-virus movies, hahaha

Because they're just so darn CUTE together! They are defiantly very VERY close to my favorite pairing of all time. I really don't see it ever going away either, haha.

^_^ Not while I'm still breathing. Yuri couples come and go, but ShizNat is one of the greatest ever next to Hachiru of Sailor Moon fan. Or Utena x Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena.

Well that is very true that always come and go. I do know that ShizNat is my favorite Yuri couple so that is never going to go away, haha. Oh yes, Hachiru that is one of the greatest the American dub of Sailor Moon use to scare me so I like the Japanese sub better, haha.

Don't remind me of "Amara" and "Michelle". We're in a new era of Sailor Moon fandom that may finally correct that for the U.S. audience. >o<
But yeah, ShizNat will always be a top favorite among yuri fans. Or at least when they're reminded of the series. It's all psychological really:
You yell TatNat, everybody goes "Huh!? What?"
You yell ShizNat...we've got a fangirl KYAAA on our hands on the 4th of July.

Thank GOD for the new era! I don't know how much more I can take of the US fandom, it's creepy haha.
Yeah, I never think of TatNat ever. It has always been ShizNat for me. That sounds fun, now I want to yell that but my employees in the office will look at me weird. I will wait till I go outside :D

XDDDD We'll put up with it at next year's Otakon. ^_~
Yeah, that would be best. It's sad how nobody else in our daily lives even know who Shizuru and Natsuki are. Even if they did, I can imagine a few bigot remarks. Interesting story that happened last year, my parents visited my home in NY and my mother saw the gay pride flag that I set up in-between my ShizNat plush. She turned to me and I quickly had to explain it to her. Your boy may be the biggest heterosexual on the planet, but he loves his homosexual brothers and sisters. :)

ShizNat? Never get tired of.
Fan-version of ShizNat? Oh, how I hate you botha nd want you to burn in fire.
ShizNat=Love.
Unless their the corrupt, fan versions.
Honestly, the best Shizuru I saw was in a HaruKino fic I adore. Now, I find that hilarious that I found that ShizNat more true and ShizNat stories, that I can't get through any of them.
People take the surface image and twist it, never seeing the deeper side.
And when people can twist things, they forget the truth.
Do you all never get tired of the REAL ShizNat, or do you like the false, fan-versions that can be, and usually are, twisted?
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

It does make me wonder! Very much so! =] Once again, you make an excellent point! I agree with you entirely. I can honestly say that I'm a "Shiznat" fan. But this means only that I'm a fan of my interpreatation of Shiznat. I'm still curious, what is your interpretation of the "Real Shiznat" and the "Fan Shiznat"? (You don't have to answer this her if you've already answered it in the "Why do some people hate Shizuru" thread, and vice versa).
With this said, who's to say that your interpretation of Shiznat is right/wrong and mine, or somebody else's is right/wrong? People may just like their own interpretation of Shiznat, but isn't that still Shiznat? =]

Yes, I replied in the other thread ;D
The only interpretation I will disagree 100% with is refusing imperfection. If you can't love someone flaws you don't really love them. Therefore, if you edit out SHizNat's flaws you don't REALLY like ShizNat.
Mind=fucked. ;D

hm... okay lets be more serious this time. (and i mean myself with this, haha ^^)
i'm really fan of the not-everything-is-perfect shiznat.
MidnightPersona says pointed out, that some people make just a perfect shizuru and that this sucks. well i have to agree with that if it's overdone.
but it#s not always just the perfect shizuru evrsion, which can get irritating. the perfect natsuki version too, which is so totally open minded to shizurus love right after the carnival... that just sucks, too.
well, if the characters are true, i have thothing against some pretty-fluffy-stuff ^^

This is true! =]
Although I'll have to say my point of view differs (but by not means is more "correct" than anybody elses) when it comes to the "perfect Natsuki" as being somebody who is just totally open minded to Shizuru's love right after the carnival. I think this comes back to interpretation. In my mind, I can't see why Natsuki would't accept Shizuru's feelings (this is just me), so I don't enjoy stories as much in which Natsuki doesn't accept Shizuru's feelings. (I even tried to write one once before, in which Natsuki doesn't accept Shizuru's feelings, but deleted it because writing it wasn't fun for me, and I wasn't enjoying it.) I think: "This doesn't make much sense to me."
Midnight Persona: Come to think of it, a "perfect Shizuru" is very one-dimensional. In any form, one-dimensional writing, and one-dimensional characters, is/are boring. Not to say that writers who write Shizuru as a one-dimensional character are bad writers, just saying that the story may not be as entertaining to the public for this reason (that Shizuru's character is one-dimensional). "Character" is the second most important element of a play (according to Aristotle in The Poetics).
