Does ANYONE here like Shiho Munakata?

Seems Octo-head (or Swirl-Head in Mai-Otome) has the least fans in the Mai-fanbase. Even Yukariko's fanbase seems larger and that's a shame. Maybe I can be proven wrong. Does anyone here like/dislike Shiho Munakata and why?

My thoughts on Shiho from the Mai HiME anime coming soon.

hmm, just a time ago i was watching some episode's again, and i found her kind of funny at some parts.
And i don't really think she's just crazy and obsessed, because otherwise Shizuru would be too.
I think i like her more than Yukariko, i think that Yukariko and her weird boyfriend guy are my least favourite characters
Edit- And Joseph Greer too, hate his character.

XD Maki Maki Shiho from Otome is much better yes. In HiME, she was too needy and obsessed with Tate when he clearly had feelings for Mai. He would often lie about not seeing her when he obviously did. She knew this too.

I had to vote YES because I do feel sorry for her. I think Shiho, as a person, is too immature to understand what another feels and wants. She's known Tate longer, but developed a different kind of relationship with him over the years as his "little sister". It stuck to him like glue.

Hearing a declaration of love from someone who structured herself as your younger sibling is a bit awkward, so I don't blame Tate.

I voted no, since I really don't like her and don't really feel sorry for her. I don't hate her or anything, she just needs to grow up.

I haven't seen much of her in Otome yet of course since I've only seen the first 4 eps, but her Maki Maki is pretty hilarious XD

Shiho's biggest weakness to me is not having much of an impact on the story. When Mikoto defeats her, causing Tate to disappear, that was a set up for Mai to have her emotional breakdown. A more important character with a very heart wrenching scene. If Shiho did the same, I can't imagine the same kind of emotion. Mai held in so much compared to Shiho.

I was doing my captures recently and noticed something else I keep overlooking about Shiho. Her flute element. Flutes are pretty badass when you think of The Green Ranger (Oh, nostalgia.) and Amiboshi from the anime/manga series Fushigi Yuugi. So Shiho has that going for her. Not quite there on the coolness meter, but she isn't total fail. ^_^

Ooohh ya know, I forgot about her flute. Flutes are pretty badass. Just ask Zhen Ji from Dynasty Warriors. (That is until 6 where they twitterpated up all the characters ><)

:lol: I forgot there was a flute user in Dynasty Warriors. I haven't played the latest games, so I wouldn't know. >_< If you have them, bring em' over next time.

Sometimes I wonder why Shiho didn't just do what she did in Shiho-chan to Iroiro.

And I'm not talking about her "doing" Yuuichi. Yes, that happens a lot in the story, but I'm referring to the general action of Shiho going "Hey, I should just use my ghost form to teleport to Yuuichi-kun and win him over directly instead of suddenly being crazy and trying to kill people who I think are trying to steal him from me when, even in my unstable mental state, enough of my facilities are intact to realize doing that will just get him killed."

But that's just how I see things.

You should know that Shiho was never a rational thinker in the anime. Or maybe it's just SUNRISE's awkward way of telling a story. Whatever the case may be, the Mai-HiMEverse could use some assistance from Captain Hindsight.

Yet she's still perfectly capable of analyzing other characters with decent accuracy and figuring out when someone else is falling in love with her man. The entire basis for her rampage is she doesn't like other HiME having the same VIP as her and she wants to prove her loyalty to ONII-CHAAAN without completely dominating his life. Hell, in episode 22, she's even able assess fighting Mai with Yuuichi nearby would put him in danger of crossfire and she backs off accordingly.

She's not so crazy that she just aimlessly attacks everyone out of blind paranoia, yet she's somehow too crazy to account for something as obvious as "Hmm, if I kill Mai, that will probably also kill my entire point for fighting."

That's the part about her character that seems forced to me. Nowhere near Shizuru-level forced, but enough to be annoying and make her look more randomly crazy than she actually is.

Even though she looks like a crazy red octopus and is very immature and possessive with her onii-chan -and becomes really crazy as a HiME-, I like her. She can be sweet, and is always -or so- smiling and energetic. Despite the fact she is veeeeeery clinging, she is a good-hearted girl.

Don't know she's an enigma to the HiME's but she has alot of responsibilities as being an priestess Fuuka Shrine.

I don't like Shiho Munakata for some reasons.

She influenced Mikoto to kill Akira's child, to make Takumi disappear in front of Mai Tokiha's eyes, which results in Mai's anger...

She tried to kill Mai so she can get hold of Yuuichi on her own... I dislike her attitude of possessiveness.

1. Mikoto was being controlled by Obsidian Lord the entire time, and had literally no control whatsoever over her own actions.

2. Even overlooking Mikoto being brainwashed by someone totally different than Shiho, she wasn't the reason Gennai will never be the head of a major corporation. Yatagarasu's talons crashing into Gennai did that.

3. Shiho originally only meant to attack Mikoto for taking Mai's side earlier. The only reason she switched targets to Akira was because she was being manipulated by Yukariko, and Vrus's illusion put Akira there. Take Yukariko out of the equation and Akira never gets trapped in the forest and never bumps into Shiho.

Ishigami's sudden nonsensical motives to take over the world and Yukariko desperately needing to be bitchslapped for listening to them are the true culprits in Takumi's murder.

I don't like Shiho that much in HiME, but she makes me laugh so hard in Otome. XD
I have to agree with Hohoemu, she is a goodhearted kid. But she lets her possessiveness get to her, the main reason I dislike her in HiME.

I hate her. Because she is always acting pure innocent in front of Tate but always make things difficult for Mai and Tate. Though my dislike somewhat disappeared when she strangled Tate with her hair.

At times I feel bad for shiho never getting her man or woman she is love less, alone and the hime no one remembers but her obsessive ness reminds me she kinda asks for it. But she can ne fun to dub lol overall though bandai shiho is unlikeable

Bandai Shiho in Mai-HIME is unbearable to listen to. ^^; No offense to the voice actress. Her voice-work suits the more insane Shiho "Maki Maki" Huit in Mai-Otome.

I like her more then joseph greer but she is also really anoying
