How Would You Develop the HiME?

In Mai HiME, especially during the Carnival, all of the major characters where developed to hell and back. What if you where the one who developed the HiME as characters? How would you go about developing them? What would their downfall in the Carnival be? It's up to you, as a fan, to decide what path you wanted each of the eleven girls remaining at the time of the carnival to take.

Oooh interesting topic.

Unfortunately, after pondering this for a while, I'm pretty sure none of the daft ideas I've come up with would work out nearly as well as the series itself. Probably the best scenario I could come up with would be someone emerging from leftfield in lieu of the Searrs arc, maybe an early entry for Shizuru or a new HiME (my favourite candidate would be Nina's lookalike Chun Mei with a water-based CHILD, perhaps called Tiamat, in the shape of a dragon, who would provide a worthy opponent for Mai & Kagutsuchi). Mind you, then there would need to be something to compensate for the lack of Miyu's influence at the end...
