Digimon: Digital Monsters

Now who remembers THIS show? I sure do and for the past couple of days I've been watching episodes of it on youtube and other websites. I have to admit, I actually MISS watching Digimon on TV. One thing I don't like, is it's constant rivalry with Pokemon. I like both, and I know the differences between the two, but seriously, I'm tired of watching fans argue over which is better or which came first.

This was my whole childhood! I loved this show, but I didn't really get to watch anything past Series three.
I agree with Sulli about the whole Pokemon/Digimon debate. Yeah, they came out about the same time and yes they have roughly the same theme, however the story lines are completely different and even the games that support the franchise are different. I enjoy the Pokemon games and I also enjoy getting lost in the Digi world; you can't really compare them.

Me... I love it. Hum, yeah... I actually miss watching Digimon on TV too. I don't agree with the rivarly... I think is nonsense... I like the both (Pokemon & Digimon), and they aren't that similar... I love all the seasons. *Waiting for Alphamon in the TV series*

Ahhhh, Digimon! A favorite from my preteen-hood! ^^

Yeah, I don't get the Poke-Digi'Mon rivalries either. They were so heated back in those days. ._.

I prefer Pokemon for the games since I've fallen out of the loop with the anime. But, I still like to watch and keep up with Digimon! I <3 Digimon Adventure and Digimon Tamers. For the former, it's mostly for nostalgia and Tamers for the darkness & realistic tone. I remember watching the new episodes every Sat. morning on (now defunct) FOX Kids. ^_^

I need to catch up on Digimon Xros Wars (Nene is my fave in this series), and I do hope it gets dubbed so Digimon can air on TV again! Haruhi-chan want to see Digimon back on TV!

My top favorite characters were always Taichi, Yamato, Agumon/WarGreymon, Gatomon/Angewomon, Ken, BlackWarGreymon, Guilmon/Dukemon, Rika, Renamon, and Impmon/Beelzebumon. Mostly recently Nene, Taiki, and Shoutmon have been added to my faves from Xros Wars.

Digimon even had some great villains like Myotismon, Devimon, the Dark Masters, Cherubimon (Frontier), and Kurata (the only true evil human in the entire franchise!).

What were some of y'alls favorite Digimon moments? :bounce:

My favorite Digi-moments would have to be the final battles against Devimon and Piedmon when Patamon FINALLY digivolves into Angemon and Holy/MagnaAngemon.

I was just discussing this with Dye last night :Laughs: So, Digimon is awesome. When it first came out I was already a Die-Hard Poke-fan and refused it for a few weeks, then I started watching it and it was love <3 Gatomon is my fav Digi and Kari my fav Digideston, or was. ^^" I liked Biyomon and Sora before Kari was there. My fav Digideston might have changed, since I plan on re-watching I shall find out~ Also, out of seasons 1-4 I have only NOT seen all the eps for season 3. All the others I saw it all.

Haven't watched past 4.

I like Digimon Tamers because it diverged from the previous series before it and pushed the envelope. It took a darker and more realistic tone for me but kept the Digimon spirit intact. The Digimon and humans were better characterized. I dug the relationships with the Tamers and their Digimon (especially Rika and Renamon). The only thing the series lacked were true evil villains. I'd definitely recommend it.

Digimon was a fantastic series, I really loved the first and third seasons.

My problems with the Pokemon/Digimon debate is that I have stubborn friends who are assholes when it come to that, calling Digimon stupid. Always makes me a little aggravated since Pokemon had nothing on the Digimon tv series.

I'm glad so many people agree on my views on the Pokemon/Digimon rivalry. So now I have to ask this question, who is everyone's favorite Digimon?

For me, it's gotta be Angemon. He could take on Ultimate level Digimon and Mega level Digimon despite the fact that he's a Champion level Digimon. For a digimon to be THAT tough says a lot.

Mine is Gatomon Because she's a fucking beast of a Champion and took all the other Champions DOWN!

Patamon was made to be the OP one of the group and, therefore, when he did digivolve in season one he killed whoever it was and then didn't digivolve again untila nother crucial OP moment. Gotta love him, though. xD He got taken down a bit in Season 2, but so did Gatomon <.<;

Oh, and Angemon did NOT take out a mega. MAGNANGEMON took out the mega. ;D And he was an Ultimate when he did such~ He is one step ahead of teh game. xD And I hated Piedmon anyways. xD

Well, it's always been my policy to judge things for myself and not always let other people's opinions sway me from seeing, playing, or trying anything they say isn't good. I just never got around to playing any of the Digimon games, they just don't interest me.

Digimon Rumble was one of my faves back in my childhood, but that's all I ever played. I generally liked the Pokemon games better (complete opposite for the anime versions).

I need to catch on Digimon Xros Wars. I finished the first series and need to watch the second series (The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time).

I'm actually a big fan of the Digimon anime. I had to watch every episode when it aired on TV, except for the 5th season, the data squad one. I tried watching it for 12+ episodes, but it was more on the boring side for me so I dropped it and never went back. And I've only watched a couple episodes of Xros Wars. I like it more than the 5th season, but I'm not sure what I really think of it yet. (And I'm so packed down with anime I need to watch, I haven't picked it up again, either. DX )

As for my favorite seasons, I like the 1st season and Tamers the most. Those were the two I felt most enjoyment watching when I was a kid and I still enjoy them today.
