Re: K-On! - Anime/Manga Discussion
Old news, but exciting for K-On fans in North America!
When Yui Hirasawa enters high school, she wants to join a club but can't decide which one is right for her. Fortunately, the Light Music Club is desperate to find another member or else they'll be disbanded! With the enticement of delicious snacks and assurances that no musical experience is necessary, Yui joins up, becoming the guitarist in this all-girl high school rock band. Together with Mio Akiyama on bass, Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard, and Ritsu Tainaka on drums, they're going to rock the school and someday make it to the Budokan! nao, if only they can just put down the snacks long enough to practice...
Contains episodes 1-4.
Special Features: Interview with Stephanie Sheh (Yui Hirasawa).
Spoken Languages: English, Japanese, English subtitles.
The first DVD/Blu-Ray volume for K-On! hits store shelves on April 26th!

This was the last bit of news regarding the K-On! movie:
The premiere date of K-ON! Movie was announced at the live event "Come With Me!", held at Saitama Super Arena on February 20. The exact date is December 3, so everybody in Japan will have to wait till then and we unfortunate beings outside Japan will have to wait even longer. According to the words of the director, Yamada Takako, it will be an original story set while the main protagonists were still high-school students.

It'll be even longer for us in the States. T_T Although if the upcoming North American DVD/Blue-Ray release of K-On! is successful, the dummies at Bandai will *hopefully* make the smart move and ship the movie here sooner for us to see. Supply and demand. MOAR RITSU FOR LUU! >O<

Re: K-On! - Anime/Manga Discussion
As some of you may know, I purchased the first North American DVD release of K-On! yesterday and watched it. I'm already familiar with the episodes, but I wanted to see how our old friends, Bandai, did with the English dub.
o_o I am shocked to say that everything was fine. I mean sure, there wasn't any work put into the menu screen (no animation!? HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING FROM MY OLD THREAD CONCERNING MAI-HIME/OTOME DVDS?!:
The laziness of Bandai's Mai-Otome DVDs ),
but the dubbing was actually not bad! Nobody sounded wrong, over the top (except for maybe
Stephanie Sheh's Yui) or drunk. It was a dub done pretty respectfully, I'm impressed. Looks like Bandai matured over the years. :)
The generic menu screen:
Mio love for me from episode 4, Training Camp!:

I don't think so, Singapore dubs never made it outside the TV ;__;.

Me neither. >_< I'm on the verge of another K-On! kick, especially when I get the second DVD volume. Watching the series on downloads was one thing, watching the series again on my big TV screen is a whole different experience. XD The series is better than I remember.
Re: K-On! - Anime/Manga Discussion
T_T
You guys make me wish they'd dub it here in the Philippines! Anyway, with the mighty power of contacting a channel network, I can! ^_^
I just can't move on with episode 4.. I haven't finished it yet!

The K-On! dub makes me happy. Probably because of Cristina Vee but...They did a good job from what I've heard so far, so I'm pretty content with the work on a whole. (Who I get to see at CTcon in two days! >w<)

XD Again, Bandai really turned things around for their anime dubbing. Cristina is a great choice for Mio Akiyama! Think of it this way, they COULD of hired Cheryl "Notski Kewga" McMaster again. O_O;;;

Seriously?? Do you have the channel Animax? My friends who live in Singapore told me that Animax dub is Spore dub.
Btw, Singapore-dubbed Digimon is da best lol (offtopic 83)
