Hyperdimension Neptunia Yuri JRPG Turned Anime
Hyperdimension Neptuina is a series of JRPG games (with alot of yuri) for the ps3 Turned Anime Last Year. First Let's run over the plots for the games to see if it would peek your intreasts (cause I Love this series alot)
The series is basically a huge parody of the console wars Planptune is the old sega console while Lastation is playstation, Lowee is Nintendo, and Leanbox is Xbox. The anime basically condenses everything that happens in these three games so it can all fit into 13 episodes though it is mainly a comedy anime with alot of yuri subtext and fanservice, as well as fourth wall breaking and gamer jokes.
Here's the trailer for it to give you an idea of what it looks like
and if you don't belive me that there is yuri here's some proff from the second game a cg image
so my suggestion if you want to is to watch this anime and if you have the time and money play the games (there's actually a fourth one due to come out on ps vita) now I should really stop my fangirl rant XD if anyone else has seen the series i would love to hear your opinions ^^ or even favorite shippings ^^
- First Games Plot:
- The player takes on the role of the main protagonist Neptune, one of four goddesses who is involved in a long series of conflicts known as the Console Wars. After an incident where Neptune is defeated following a one on three battle with the other goddesses, she loses consciousness and begins dreaming. Upon waking, she finds herself at Compa's house having crash landed earlier in front. Neptune reveals that she can't remember anything up to that point, which leads Compa to believe that Neptune is suffering from amnesia. After hearing from Compa that monsters have began to run loose, Neptune decides to go hunt them along with Compa. During her first hunt, she suddenly transforms into her HDD form, Purple Heart, and defeats a large monster. Eventually the two meet IF, who explains that she is looking for treasure, and Neptune invites IF to join their party. After clearing another dungeon full of monsters, the party heads to the Basilicom to gain permission to travel to other landmasses to fight more monsters-Wikipedia
- Second Game's Plot:
- The year is 20XX, and in an alternate universe from the first game, where Arfoire is dead, a force known as ASIC (Arfoire Syndicate of International Crime), a group solely dedicated towards the deceased Arfoire, has risen, led by CFW Magic. Over the years, the influence of ASIC has become increasingly powerful, currently affecting many residents of Gamindustri. As such, in response to the threat, the CPUs and Nepgear travel to the Gamindustri Graveyard to combat ASIC. However, the five of them are overpowered and captured. Three years later, IF and Compa arrive to find Neptune. With the power of the Sharicite, a crystal made from the hopes of people, the two manage to free Nepgear and escape, though the Sharicite is broken in the process. Retreating to Planeptune, Nepgear must recover her strength and free Gamindustri from the influence of ASIC, though she must first locate the mascots of the landmasses, who can provide the power to potentially assist the captive CPUs. As she travels Gamindustri to find the mascots, she crosses paths with Nisa, Gust, 5pb, Cave, and Falcom, as well as the other CPU Candidates, who she befriends. They eventually join Nepgear's party, and together with the power of the mascots, they manage to free their captive sisters. The members of ASIC fall by their hand as well, though they uncover a sinister plot to use their power to revive Arfoire. Making their way to the Gamindustri Graveyard for the last time, Nepgear's party defeats Arfoire, and the CPUs attempt to seal the entity forever.-Wikipedia
- Third Games Plot:
- The game takes place in an alternate world in the year 1989. The regions of Lowee, Leanbox, Lastation, and Planptune exist in this world as well. However, the countries' cultures differ from those in Gamindustri. For example, Lowee's towns and cities are said to be modeled after a Japanese style of architecture. The player resumes the role of Neptune, as she is caught in a space/time rift, and is sent to another world, known as the V Dimension, in the year 1989. The Country of Lowee prepares for war with rumors that the country of Leanbox is planning to invade their borders by sea.-Wikipedia

Re: Hyperdimension Neptunia Yuri JRPG Turned Anime
My ex is obsessed with Neptunia. When I heard the girls represented the video game company/consoles, my mind went blank. How can they pull a series like this off!? Never seen the anime or played the game yet (I'm an Xbox 360 owner...), but the series must of been successful since it's taken a life of it's own with a few sequels.
So I heard.
So I heard.
