Favorite Mai-Otome character?

Mai Otome is full of awesome characters. Most of them are returning favorites from HiME but with new roles. It's nice to see Natsuki and Shizuru (Viola!?) official, but because their air of mystery is gone from HiME, my shining star is:



Arika Yumemya. Who I often dub "Sailor Moon version 2.0" Well, she is. I'm fond of the heroic types in any show/anime, so Arika captured my attention fast. She cares for her friends, even if they turn on her. She cares for the people and even improved her fighting skills with heart, not muscle. Cheesy, but I like cheesy. Plus she's incredibly funny and her chemistry with grumpy little Nina is awesome.

So discuss your favorite characters from Otome! ^_^

Nina is so cool and I understand her feelings/frustrations with Arika and Sergay. You haven't seen Zwei right? You might be a bit disappointed with Nina. Well, she does make up for it, but it happens late. ^^;;; You'll see when I come over.

Yeah.. since Alyssa turned in to a bird, nothing much to like about her '^^
I just noticed a while ago that Miyu got short eyebrows in mai hime, and long eyesbrows in mai otome. Why did that ever happen? xD now if i doodle Miyu i actually have to think wether to make a mai hime or mai otome Miyu (aside from clothes) xD (i once made one with mai otome clothes with mai hime eyebrows, smarty ^^)
And, i think Miyu didn't change a lot in how she acts. The only thing is she doesn't have her Alyssa to care about..

I could say Shizuru and Natsuki again, but that would be boring, right?? And actually I don't like Shizuru this much here (did I really write this?? O_o), but Natsuki is great as ever.

I really like the new Midori. I wonder why o.o Nao (specially because of her robe) is awesome, too (just thought about the third (??) Mai Otome Zwei episode <3). Chie and Aoi rock in HiME and they rock in Otome, too :D

Well, from Arika, Erstin and Nina, I would choose Nina, though I think it's really annoying, that she is in love with the new Tate, who totally is a fail here -__-

Oh, I totally forgot Lena, but she would count to Mai Otome 0~S.fr~, right??

And I like the more joyful Mai with Mikoto, too :3

And Tomoe is a Komugiraffe great biatch!!!! LOL

It's funny you mentioned that. It's humorous how both in the Japanese original and the English dub, when Miyu says her famous "I won't allow you to insult *insert character name here*" one-liner in Mai Otome, she pauses for a second before saying Arika. It's like both voice actresses are used to saying Alyssa for that line and not Arika. xD

Aswad leader Midori is pure awesome and she's such a fierce fighter. She can tangle with Meister Otome and live. The most rewarding element from getting to know this version of Midori was how much Arika and Queen Mashiro learned from her. It made them better characters, developing their leadership and determination as the series progressed.

mines would be Shizuru Viola and Nina Wáng

I'd have to say my favorite in otome is, natsuki. always Natsuki.
She show's a different attitude in this one, even though she's still hot headed sometimes, her attitude seems to be more mature it stands out to me.

Good choices, all three are awesome Otome characters. Arika being the best of them all, in my opinion. :D Gotta love Antsy. ^_~

Nina wogn was good hime working wrath arika yumemiya after the hime wiez. Nina wogn was scary face' Nina wogn is hared to master otome.

You do have a point, Ice. Shizuru Viola provided some great battles and fanservice....that's about it. ^^; Nothing compared to the graceful and tragic Fujino incarnation from Mai-HiME, but still pretty and awesome.

But besides her, I liked Nao. I'm glad she got some nice screen time in Otome. :3 I still really like Natsuki, too(though her hitchhiking skills are as great as ever lol ) and Mashiro ended up growing on me.

On all of us, I hope. I never hated her to begin with (like other fans did), she was just a spoiled brat. All the girl needed was a serious wake up call and it happened. Now she's a wonderful Queen.

lol I never hated her from the beginning either, but she didn't become one of my favs until later. I like her way more than her HiME version, actually. lol I plan to do a nice drawing of her sometime.
