okay. i think that mai liked her as a friend but never got to talk to her. akane always thought that kasu was a pervy creep...sometimes. akane felt so alone and mai felt too stressed out. they decided to turn to each other for her. but instead of help, they fell in love with each other. mhwa! mhwa! ...my awesome fake reasn why they woud be together.

I think that if in Otome, it could definitely work; however it would have to be during the Zwei arc, or by the time Mai returned from the Black Valley with Arika and Mashiro.

We have seen Kazuya express an extreme physical need to have sex with Akane in Otome (he forced her against a tree and shoved a knee between her legs for God's sake!), regardless if she has to still graduate from Garderobe or not. What if word of this got out? That Akane was at risk of losing her nanomachines before even graduating?

Then along came Tokiha. Mai is without a very protective person when it comes to her friends and the innocent; she's also a very powerful Otome (she fist-fights SLAVES and the bad guys, come on, tell me that isn't badass). Mai is also sworn to her duty and very loyal.

I don't doubt that Akane felt flustered and somewhat violated after that Kazuya had done. She said it was fine, but Akane was evidently scared of what the guy was willing to do- they were in the middle of a forest, where near to no-one could hear them. Since Mayha isn't always around to be babysitter, Mai would likely be assigned to protect Akane's "maidenhood." She never really has anything to do either way, other than run her ramen shop at Cat God Mountain. The relationship would spark and flourish in a very clichéd way, but it would certainly be interesting.

I basically pulled that whole thing out of my arse, so it seems a little bit ruffled up to me. Hopefully you guys get what I'm saying with this. ^^;

And trust me, in Otome... Mai ain't no Uke. :9

Both cooking their usual meals for loved ones. Mai is stirring the soup, Akane is handling the frying pan and the woodenspoons touch... they look at each other and in the middle of the steam and with the sound of sizzling meat as the background they can't take the eyes off each other.

Mai isn't entirely uke either. She has a very sneaky personality (in the extra when Natsuki was ill during HiME, she practically took advantage of her).

It depends which type of person you are with for "uke/seme" to come in. Just look at Tomoe, she is an uke to Viola but a seme to Miya (Otome-Manga).
