Discussion Room "Explain Ending of Episode 26"

Hey guys, here I am once again with a new discussion thread just to tickle your brains out :3

The topic of this thread is pretty much something that each of us have wondered about if we've watched Mai HiME religiously and repeatedly.

Can anyone explain the ending of episode 26?

There has been speculation about that scene where Nagi and Mashiro left through the doors of Valhalla. Why did they go there? Where are they going? And mostly, what happens on the other side?

I always have this little theory that the reason why they entered the dorrs of Valhalla was because their time on Earth has run out and that they had to return into the reincarnation loop-thingamajig. And then their reincarnated self became the Mashiro and Nagi of the Otome-verse, while Fumi, the one they left behind, became the Shinso in that Universe. It sounds convincing enough to me, but when I tried putting the events in one timeline my head started to spin so I skipped the details ^^;

And there you have it. Post in your speculation peeps, maybe we can figure out something believable to explain what happened to them :3

I tend to think along the same lines as you do, that they were reincarnated as the Otome-verse Nagi and Mashiro. I'll have more to say on the matter when I can think properly without going into a daze and forgetting what I was doing

Yes, I have xD Valhalla is the Hall of Warriors from the Norse Myth. I think Narsi would have a lot to say about this if she's here hehe. And yea, I noticed that the Mai Universe borrowed a lot of terms from the Norse myths, it makes it more interesting to me :3

If HiME-verse Nagi and Mashiro went inside the Doors of Valhalla, then who's the Mashiro at the Otome-verse, whom MIYU called as the Master of the Pure White Diamond?

I dunno, just found it... contradictory. To me.
