Fandom, not franchise. :) The fandom (people like me and Narsilia) makes sure the series remains alive and well. It's the Franchise (Sunrise) not doing their part and ironically, their part is the most important. ^_^

The fandom and franchise is still healthy after eight years for two reasons: one is the controversial ending and the other is recent Blu-ray extras and one-shot EXA manga. Natsuki Kuga

That does a little but it's not enough to give us more and we WANT more. Sunrise wants to cater with their Japanese and do think HiME is really successful in Japan.

Make a international release just like Tiger & Bunny and Gundam Unicorn. Make the series and dub better, have this guy direct VA's.

Sunrise will give us everything about the Childs and HiME true purpose really, my take is we have some kind of balance system and the Childs are created from Maidens who are chosen with huge burden to protect Earth against those who wanted to obtain greater power. One who controls, controls them all.

I do think we have more HiME's than 12 and I believe this could be a step to human evolution as Materialization becomes a key to the future or possible destruction. Now the system tries to rebalance itself.

I meant backstory as in: How did Midori get her Child? How did Fumi come under the care of Mashiro? What happened before the series? These kind of questions. All we got was Natsuki's Prelude... whatever about everyone else's?

Which should also be animated. :) More background specials on the rest of the HiME would be great, especially characters like Midori, Akira and Yukino since there so much to explore with their lives.

For Fumi: Noble family just like Akira,Shizuru and possibly Mikoto, may have brought up to take care of Mashiro.

I was referring those Childs part not even mentioning HiME part of the story. Sunrise will reveal everything about in the next series.
