Re: Back in my day
Back in my days, gameboy games were monochrome xD
I felt like I was colorblind half of the time.

((While I'm somewhat anti-Nintendo, I will admit Super Mario Brothers 3 is one of the greatest games of all time. The game really paved the way for Mario games. At the time, it was the first one, only expanded to grand new heights. I didn't really feel that with the okay-ish Super Mario World a couple years later, so off to Sega I went with the fast rodent's far more epic adventures. *_* ))

In Germany perhaps...muahaha!
Re: Back in my day
Back in my day, all you gotta do was blow on the SNES video games to make em work. Can't do that anymore nowadays D8
Re: Back in my day
The whole blowing-into-video-game-cartridges never worked, anyway. All we did was make our games rusty, literally. All we had to do was take the game out, and put it back in the SNES. You know, reconnectiondepression76 wrote:Back in my day, all you gotta do was blow on the SNES video games to make em work. Can't do that anymore nowadays D8

In fact, video games before, had greater difficulty, for example the first Castelvania, megaman, the sims, ninja gaiden. Maybe because the creators were not so easily to graphics or videos, I think they focused more on the gameplay. Currently you can go deeper into the characters, the story, the scenes, sometimes leaving the gameplay in last place :)

Re: Back in my day
Yes, but when you e.g. play Mario Kart on Snes(??) you can easiely glich(=Cheat, it's a NICE german word) where you can throw out all the drivers, if you have a mushroom! Nice, not? :D I've done it maaaany times. The old games are no difficult for me, because I've played these difficult games since I was a little kid! I've played the most Megaman games and completed it without any fail!

You girls are noob amateurs, I swear to Facking lady fumi. The best way to fix carts back in the day without damaging cheek veins is the rubbing alcohol + q-tip trick. ALWAYS works.
Re: Back in my day
Well, maybe it was just me.
But sometimes you only had videogame magazines or very few (almost inexistent) TV shows about videogames to give you cheats and all that stuff.
Now are full guides for the game with strategies and so on...
Anyways...
Back in my day, anime was not as censored.

Back in my day, multiplayer meant playing with just one person in a single game. And we were sitting next to each other playing.

with what little I remember ...
had a few publications, including. the most famous "club nintendo" both in print and on TV, subsequently atomix, EGS editions, the magazines were so great!
but it was typical that at some point in the game knew no further ... that was the issue in the school playground. *sighs*

having simultaneous multiplayer mode, it was a revolution, was incredible, it was a feature that attracted a lot of attention, especially with any racing game or fight (the latter, my favorite genre, aside from RPG)
@thread: back in my day, you could go play in the arcades of the neighborhood
