Yuru Yuri - Anime/Manga Discussion

Yuru Yuri is a slice of life anime series that follows the life of four friends. Wiki describes it much more eloquently than I can, so the following is taken from wikipedia:

I came across this when it first came out and I was waiting for the releases of one episode a week. It's not as epic as Azumanga Daioh, but it comes pretty close for me as far as this genre goes.

My favorite character in the whole series is Chitose Ikeda.

Why? It's because of her that this show constitutes as "yuri". Shall we see why?
And of course, the yuri googles allows her to see everyday normal interactions as something romantic or sexual. XD

Let out your love for this show in this thread. And, if you've never seen it, go watch it!! I DEMANDS IT!

I've never read the manga, so I guess I'm missing out on some things that could be elaborated more from the anime.

Like... is Akarin's sister really obsessed with her? There was a glimpse of her room in ep 1... *shudders*

Those shots are funnier when you replace her appearance with Yui's (K-ON). They have the same seiyuu if I'm not wrong.

Hm, well, not really. Chitose's sister doesnt really talk much and she has a more masculine voice. And she's kinda a tsundere. ^-^;

It started sometime yesterday or today... I'm waiting for the subs to come out before I can acquire it. ^-^;;

I'll wait a few more days before searching >.>;

So, I finally got around to watching the first episode of season 2 and I was not impressed. I barely even really remember what happened in there except for the beginning, because it was such an odd turn of events. But, of course, it all turns out to be someone's dream... which isn't surprising.

I'll continue following this series to see if anything interesting starts happening...

Episode three of the second season made me squee! It centered around Sakurako and Himawari! <333 (They're my favorite pairing from this anime. Well, it goes back and forth between them and Kyoko/Ayano.)

And the ending to this episode is... hilarious in a creepy-sister kind of way. o-o But we finally get to see what Akari's sister looks like!

Really really. It was only for about four seconds before the credits roll though. Still, it's something. XD

Akane is the name of Akari's sister, meh thinks. It was the creepiest thing to see her at the end. I enjoyed the third episode a lot, it mostly focused on the theme of Valentine's Day chocolates. Sakurako (?) being the main focus of the episode. Jealous about lack of homework time together? Nay! You are jealous that your precious Himewari (?) is spending time with someone else. The whole scene where Sakurako is spazzing out in the bedroom was hilarious. X3 Cannot wait to see the next episode!

Watched the latest episode of Yuri Yuri season 2 (episode 5, meh thinks) and omg, what a laugh fest! The whole concept for the episode was simple: It's a very hot day and Kyouko (as well as Akarin) are trying to keep cool. Kyouko needing triple A batteries had me in stitches. That happened to me a long time ago and it's still a painful memory to this day.



When it was Akarin's turn to have screen time, she is basically waiting for the next train to catch up with the others. Always getting left behind you "main character" you. ;p The best part was this and it's complete BULLSHIT!!!



YEAH, NO SH**, SHERLOCK! THE TICKET IS RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long story short, it has gotten better... or maybe I was just too harsh on the first episode? Not sure. But either way, it's good if you want to just relax at the end of your day. :3

Is anyone reading this too? It's a spin-off by the mangaka about Sakurako and her family. I really like Sakurako so I'm enjoying all the of the side-stories. ^^

Thanks for the link, Dash! Sakurako is one of my lesser favorite characters, but it's good to know more about her personal life. In my opinion, Sakurako is a good example of young people dipping their toes in love for the first time...

XD There were a lot of funny scenes before that with Sakurako and Chizuru, but Akane easily stole the show. XD

But... she's so normal in the Sakurako-family manga spin-off! (She's friends with Sakurako's older sister.) She's only creepy when it comes to her sister! o_o /mixed feels
