Three's Bisexuality!: ShizNatRei [Shizuru Fujino x Natsuki Kuga x Reito Kanzaki]

And there, the tease was going on again. Like a beaten dog, Natsuki lowered her head, her fine carved eyebrows twitched nervously to the statement she just had received.

"... oi! ... Shi-zu-ru!!!!"

Ruffling her hair, the girl's cheeks heated up to a notch. Look like her? The imagination was... oh well. She shook her head lightly as she looked at her friend.

"... uhm... I guess your 'fangirls' wouldn't like this view...", she growled, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her vest.

"... they would be rather shocked, you know...", Natsuki continued with a smirk. "What an imagination. Their world would crumble into little pieces. Now, could you really take the responsibility for that?"

Fangirls. Oh HOW Natsuki hated them. In the last years, they kinda cursed the rebellious "tomboy" for being so close to their "oh-so-beloved" Kaichou. Her guts just churned at that thought.

Speaking of... while both made their way into the cafeteria, the slender girl could already spot that horde, squealing and gossiping. Another reason to avoid school, eh? No way. Was Natsuki envious???

...Skip that. NO. She wasn't envious, why on earth would she have SUCH antics?

"And there it goes again. Like. Every. Year. Seems you're still the number one..."

Grimacing over the students, Natsuki took a seat, looking around with an annoyed expression. Usually that would do it to keep them on distance. The girls feared her wrath and glistening glare. Her dark emerald eyes seemed to turn into a poisonous green whenever she was "pissed", just to say so.

"Mhh... coffee. Thank you."

The usual deal. Shizuru would most likely get her dearest drink, that special tea the cafeteria was famous for. even if Natsuki didn't seem to be that person, she was surely able to sometimes read her friend like an open book. Some chapters, however, were closed with seven seals. And she hoped that it would stay like that.

So, while Shizuru was on the way, Natsuki rested her face on her palms, staring idly at the first students coming on. So many new faces. She wondered how this year would turn out. Hopefully, not too bad.

Shizuru smiled when Natsuki grumbled out something about her being the number one every year.

Number one in what, exactly? But she was not in the mood to get into the technicalities.

“They just wanted a role model, Natsuki,” she chuckled, resisting the urge to pat the blue hair down like she would calm a pissed off puppy “and it’s not a competition the last time I check, no?”

Shizuru, though it would seem weird, enjoyed seeing the change of color of Natsuki’s eyes, that would react with her mood. A mysterious dark green when incensed—like right now, made her look absolutely smoldering. The sight tugged on the yearning the brunette has for her.

A trip to get Natsuki’s coffee and the milk tea took approximately about five minutes—almost 7 minutes, Shizuru counted, because the girls actually came and tried to strike a conversation with her. Just by a glance, the Kaichou could see that some of these girls are freshmen, who had entered Fuuka’s High School believing the rumors that surrounded her. The sparkles of awe and expectation in their eyes were enough proof.

It took her a while to get herself free from them and made her trek back to where her usually frowning companion was waiting. This time though, the girl had her head propped out on her hands, green eyes staring with what look likes anxiety at the new students milling inside the cafeteria.

“Natsuki look prettier when she smiles, you know?” her tilted voice said as the cup of coffee and a cream cheese bagel courtesy of Shizuru was put down in front of the biker. She won’t let Natsuki go through the morning classes just on coffee. It’s not good for her health, and caffeine tended to make people hyper.

"You don't have to be afraid, some of them are freshmen, I know Natsuki won’t have any problem with them if she keeps up her ‘lone wolf’ persona.” With a smile, she sipped on her milk tea.

A sigh of contentment was let out. Crimson eyes joined in studying the groups of slightly nervous-looking people. The freshmen looked like little baby chicks who just entered a lion’s den unprepared, and the old students who’re back for a new term looked either excited, tired or just plain pissed. They’re probably grumbling about the end of the break.

“Natsuki look prettier when she smiles, you know?”

Tilting her head, Natsuki looked up into a pair of crimson colored eyes, snorting only a little over that statement. Well, prettier? For whom? Strands of slate-blueish hair kept falling into her face, moving up from her comfortable position, she combed them behind her ear, using her long, slender fingers.

"Uhum..."

The girl sighed.

"True. Smiling is only a different way to show your fangs to the world," she replied with a muffled voice as her gaze wandered along that mix of freshmen and faces she knew from the last years, finally fixing the cup of coffee and the bagel in front of her. Wait... a bagel?

"Uhm... Shizuru. That wasn't necessary... but still..."

She managed a surprisingly soft smile and grabbed the bagel. Even her favourite. Speaking of "reading minds like a book", Shizuru mastered it far too well.

"...thank you..."

Lowering her gaze, her heart skipped a beat. Lone-wolf-persona, eh?

"Lone... wolf? Shizuru, you should know by now, that I grew out of that... at least...", she took a sip of coffee and hissed since it was still very hot and burnt her tongue.

"At least a little bit."

The next sip was done more in a more careful fashion. Secretly she watched her friend watching the people around. She has always been so stoic, no matter if she was just standing or watching - or just holding the teacup, leading it to her lips.

Really, that woman was a relic of old-fashioned lifestyle. It really complimented her.

Shizuru felt the corner of her mouth quirk up in a happy smile and just nodded at the thanks from her companion. The lone wolf topic has always been her favorite. It was always a fact that Shizuru loves to bring up—the fact that Natsuki, the rebellious lone wolf, became pretty much a cute, adorable puppy when around her.

Of course, that kind of description would earn her a glare and a grumble, that’s why Shizuru prefer to keep it for herself.

"Lone... wolf? Shizuru, you should know by now, that I grew out of that... at least..."

"At least a little bit."

“Of course, Natsuki had started smiling more oftenly now—“ ever since the carnival chaos had died down, some of the ice around the princess melted and let the flower inside bloom “—and that’s been making me quite worried.”

She placed a hand against her cheek and sighed (fakely) forlornly.

“What if people start to fall for Natsuki? And formed a fan club? Ara ara—it would be very troublesome.” Fair brunette hair flails around as she shook her head in fake sadness. Though in the fakeness of it all was a grain of truth.

Shizuru didn’t really want to share this side of Natsuki—the kind, smiling, caring side—with other people. As selfish as it sounds, she would prefer it if the biker would show this side of her to Shizuru and Shizuru only.

But alas—she supposed she should have been happy enough that Natsuki still wants to be friends with her after the fiasco. She should have been satisfied of where she was right now….she should not expect more and raise her hope only to have it crashing down.

For Natsuki’s own good—she’ll have to bear sharing the girl with these new people.

Her fingers twitched as the cup was lowered from her lips.

The caramel tea started to taste bitter against her taste buds.

The soft ‘thunk’ the thick cup made against the plastic table sounded oddly depressing even to her ears.

"Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh, don't talk like that!"

Natsuki's voice sounded disgruntled in the slightest bit. Her face flushed into a notable shade of crimson and caused her to stutter and shudder inwardly.

"Falling for me. Fanclub. Bollocks. Who would even want someone like m- ..."

She stopped the sentence before she was able to finish it. Damn. Why didn't she keep the last part for herself??

There was a person who would have KILLED for her love. A person, who did everything for her... still did every possible thing. That was... a pretty dumb move of her.

"Uhm... nevermind, Shizuru. Forget about what I've said..."

Natsuki stared into her cup, watching her face reflecting in the deep-brownish, nearly black fluid. God, sometimes she just was far too stupid. Better think about it before you speak it out loud. Well, the dark-haired girl just had been too hotblooded for controlled conversations and thoughts. Well... what now? One sip to calm her down. Her hands shook a little.

She sighed deeply, a guilty expression on her face.

"... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

She didn't even know what to say right now. One simple action was able to crush emotions in mere seconds, right? Hiding her flushed face behind her palms, Natsuki gasped and counted lowly to three. People said it would work wonders, but once she removed her hands and looked into her counterpart's face, she was sure: Counting wouldn't help this time.

But what had been said was already out in the universe, and it rang like an echo in her ears.
Yet, as always, the feature of the Kaichou didn’t waver, like calm lake water untouched by the wind. It didn’t bother her at all really…she knows how Natsuki feels about her feelings.

“It’s alright, Natsuki.”

She took another sip of the not-really-sweet caramel milk tea in an automated response.
It’s like her body’s program to input the tea as something like a sedative…to calm herself down.

It won’t be good to lose her composure in front of the person who knew her best after herself in this entire whole school. She was the infallible Kaichou of Fuuka Academy, she got through the carnival without breaking a sweat…and she would go through this awkward moment without breaking her default smile.

She didn’t meet Natsuki’s eyes…but Shizuru felt more than see the guilty look sent towards her.

"... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..."

‘The mouth speaks what the heart feels, it seemed.’ The brunette thought ruefully.

“Really, its fine, Natsuki.”

She gave her companion a smile that would betray no emotion, but the older girl seemed to forgot, that her crimson eyes…that used to be unreadable to the blue haired biker…was something akin to a beacon that showed her real emotion.

She’s slipping.

And what’s more…she did not realize it.

As though sparing her from the tense moment—the bell rang throughout the school, breaking any kind of thoughts or pregnant pauses and a relieved sight was drowned somewhere in the middle of it.

“Shall we go? We wouldn’t want Natsuki to be late on her first day,” Shizuru stood up first, wanting to change the subject more than anything right at this moment. The topic had hit close quite to home, and hearing about her feelings being waved aside as though forgotten was not something she would like to hear in the morning.

"... it's... it'S not alright."

Natsuki forced herself to look directly into Shizuru's eyes. There was even a tad more damage than she thought.

"Really. I can see that it... affects you much more... than you actualy admi-"

School bell. For a moment, she jerked since she didn't expect that awful noise right in the moment. Eyes widened in light shock, her gaze went from Shizuru to her unfinished breakfast. Guldping down the still hot coffee, she grabbed the bagel and offered her friend one last, apologetic look.

"We talk later during lunch, ok?"

She offered the darkblonde a smile, even if it was weak, a little lost and helpless. Damn, Natsuki really had the gift to screw things up, if she wanted or not.

Hastily she stormed into the hallway, occupied with finding her classroom for now. It wouldn't have changed, after all, right? Just... those faces. DAMN! The "lone wolf" had other worries than a bunch of new students!

The lessons passed by horribly slow. Even slower than usual. Natsuki's head rested on the surface of the table, idly she examined her fingernails while the teacher went on in his ode to numbers and formulas. She just wanted the first lessons to end, so she could finally talk to Shizuru. Really...

But on the other hand... she looked so... hurt. Maybe the dark-haired girl just should avoid that topic, pretending that it had never happened at all? No, it wasn't her nature to chicken out of it. At least... she always chose the hard way after thinking about several other solutions.

The school bell pet her out of the first misery, but opened the gate for the second one. How was she going to do it? Oh well. She pulled out her mp3 player from the book bag, putting on the headphones before she got on her feet, walking outside slowly.

Wasn't it odd how the whole environment started to change, once you had music with you? Things slowed down n her mind and gave her a little room to focus. Natsuki headed outside to one of her favorite places. The Pavilion. The girl didn'T feel hungry at all. She just wanted to be a little on her own.

Sitting down in the grass, time passed by on her. Suddenly, she saw a shadow coming closer. Maybe it was Shizuru, since she knew her likable hideouts as well...

"We talk later during lunch, ok?"

She’s not really looking forward to that.

Remembering Natsuki’s apologetic look earlier made her heart stings with pain. What was Natsuki apologetic about?

Her not meaning what she said?

Or Natsuki apologizing because the truth came out unconsciously?

Either way, all those possibilities were scary or she hoped time would spare her and go slowly today. The brunette didn’t mind having to spend a long time doing endless paperwork rather than facing something as scary as…the truth.

Truth hurts sometimes…and very much so too.

Should she just pretend that nothing had taken place earlier? Act dumb?

Natsuki wouldn’t believe it for sure. It’s scary sometimes to know how much the biker knows about her.

Shizuru took a sip of her green tea this time before placing the cup back on the wooden desk. As what have been agreed on last year, she’s staying in Fuuka this year to keep Natsuki, who was repeating a year, company. The school had agreed on putting her in a one year extension to continue her work as the Student Council president all too happily, and did not even bother to ask what the reason for this decision was.

She didn’t care though, all the brunette needed was a permanent place in Fuuka to keep her dearest company, thus was why right now she found herself seated in her comfortable chair and doing paperwork for the school on the worn wooden desk that has been with her almost all of her High School year. The room was pretty much unchanged, saved for the members of the Council.
People graduated and new faces emerged.

Ah…it made her wish that Suzushiro-san was here to liven her day.

Drowned in her thoughts, the Kaichou blinked in surprise when the loud ring of the bell signaled the end of lesson and the beginning of lunch break. Time went so quickly when you’re having fun reminiscing about the past and the woes of a teenage girl in love.

Taking her time, Shizuru tidied up the mass heaps of paperwork placed on her desk and put everything back to places where they were before. The corridor outside was rumbling with the footsteps of the students racing out of their classroom towards the freedom. Best thing to do was to wait a moment until the chaos died down before she walked out of the Council room.
Crimson eyes glanced outside of the windows thoughtfully as her hands froze in the middle of taking out her bento box.

Natsuki didn’t say where they would meet up for lunch, did she?

If that was so…then that means there could only be one place where the biker could be found. Shizuru grabbed her bento box and her favorite drink placed in a canister before she made her way out of the classroom. She may dread the time where they have to talk about that, but she would never want to make Natsuki wait outside by her lonesome either.

She traced the familiar way towards that one place, footsteps shuffled against the fresh green grass of spring. Flowers bloomed beautifully by the sidelines, reminding her of the first day she and Natsuki met. It was a day like today as well, when she thought about it.

A figure was then seen seating on the grass, a very familiar figure who had her back slumped that would indicate…a less than happy mood.

Bad day …perhaps?

Not bothering to sneak behind the girl, Shizuru made herself known from her footsteps before she gracefully sat down beside her friend, tucking her skirt under her elegantly and out of habit more than hygiene. The bento box and the drink were placed between them and there was still silent.

“…how was your day so far?”

Until now, of course.

Drowning in music, Natsuki pulled her legs closer to her body, staring idly at the sky, then the flowers. Everything brought so many memories with it, even the air with blooming scent.

Right now, the girl hated herself. SO much. Her slate-blueish hair kept falling into her face, hiding her features from the world. Now, that she actually felt something wet slipping down er cheek, the girl had realized that something weird was going on. Her heart was beating cruelly strong and painful in her chest and caused her to crouch even more. Wasn't she just like her younger version, so many years ago?

Maybe. Just a little more guilt-ridden.

At first she didn'T even notice Shizuru sitting down next to her, just the shadow hushing past her forms. But once she felt that presence, the girl eventually raised her head, lifting the headphones so she could catch her friend's voice. But she still hid her face. She didn't want Shizuru to see her like that.

"Uhm... ok, I guess. Yours?"

Her voice sounded a little throaty by now.

She was rather taken aback when a rather throaty voice replied to her.

Shizuru had not expected that. A grumble, yes, a low growl while cursing about first days of school, yes…but not…

not this.

Not a throaty voice, showing the perfect sign of someone who had been crying merely seconds before. Everything was forgotten as worry took over her.

“Is Natsuki alright?”

All the alarms rang inside her with concern. The biker didn’t usually act this way unless…unless their conversation from the cafeteria still bothered her. And from the looks of it, it still was. No wonder she was all slouched and depressed looking.

She couldn’t quite know how to tackle this fragile Natsuki…reigning in her self control, she tried hard to not lose to her inner self. The last time she had seen the dark haired girl as vulnerable as this, she had taken that to her advantage and tainted the one person she had sworn to protect with all she has.

That was why right now, even though her arms were itching to wrap themselves around the girl and give her all the comfort that she needed…

Shizuru held back.

“Is Natsuki alright?”

The words echoed in her mind and Natsuki bit her lower lip. Alright? No. Not really. Fuck, since when did the girl become so soft on the inside? A few years ago, it wouldn't have affected her to toss such statements into peoples' faces, but this time... well, it was Shizuru.

Wiping across her face with the sleeve of her sweater, she sniveled shortly, forcing herself to calm down to a certain level. Her other hand, however, ripped out some grass from the ground, twisting it between her fingers.

"Shizuru?..."

She paused.

"Are you... mad at me now?"

God, the whole scenery seemed to be so unreal. She didn't feel like herself, so... out of character. But why? Had she been really THAT dull in her younger years? Now, that she thought about it... it was all a part of her protection. The dark blonde girl next to her really had managed to break a hole into her wall. And right now, she realized how it felt to be... hurt.

"That... thing I said in the morning..."

She crumbled the weed between her fingers and let it fall to the ground.

"I shouldn't have brought it up so... easily. It's just... that..."

Well, could she even find an explanation for this? Natsuki tugged her own hair, looked to the side.

"What I have said... isn't true. Sure... there would be many people who would rather kill themselves than spending time with me - except you."

While she told Shizuru what was on her mind, her voice shook a little. It had been quite hard to express what was on her mind.

Crimson eyes were glued at the poor weeds that were yanked out from the ground as the dark haired girl beside her expressed the truth that was in her mind.

"Are you... mad at me now?"

That startled her to quite a degree. How could she be mad at Natsuki? Not once or ever have she felt anger at the younger girl. She had learned and developed an immunity to Natsuki’s sometimes hurtful yet honest words, that was why being mad at the girl was…not possible.

"What I have said... isn't true. Sure... there would be many people who would rather kill themselves than spending time with me - except you."

It was hard for the girl to speak out her mind…and it took all in Shizuru not to bring the girl into her arms and embraced her for all that’s worth.

“That’s not true.”

A hand reached out to touch the long dark blue locks that tumbled over Natsuki’s shoulders. Gently, Shizuru ran her hand through them before bringing them up against her lips. This was the closest she could be to Natsuki without actually touching her.

“Natsuki is a wonderful person…people would love to spend time with you, if they get to know you more, I’m sure.”

Someone as interesting as this younger girl here would no doubt be the center of attention if she did not have that icy lone wolf façade she puts up around people. Shizuru was the proof, years had passed ever since their first meeting and yet she never ceased to be interested by this girl here. Always wanted to know more…

“So don’t worry ne? I’m not mad at you.”

Hurt yes, mad….certainly not.

“That’s not true.”

Natsuki looked up with a rather surprised expression when these words crawled up into her system. Actually, she was so confused that Shizuru's gentle touch didn't bother her in the slightest. To be honest... it was a welcomed gesture.

Silently she watched her friend running her soft fingers through slate-blue hair, leading it to her lips. The scenery was so... touching, that Natsuki's own heart nearly skipped a beat. She was deeply moved, unable to say anything at all. They sat there in silence, completely thrown out of reality.

“Natsuki is a wonderful person…people would love to spend time with you, if they get to know you more, I’m sure.”

It made her blush, and the lone wolf turned her head to the side. She cursed that chaos inside her mind, swallowed down that gigantic bile in her throat.

"Stop that, Shizuru... that's...", she stuttered with a sheepish, barely visible smile. As she faced her friend, their shoulders bumped together in the slightest possible touch. It wasn't even a whiff.

"So... can you forgive me?", she asked lowly before she moved away a bit, dropping herself into the grass to watch her companion's expression.

The smile was barely visible, but nothing could escape Shizuru’s sharp-ever attentive eyes. It made her smile as well, to see her beloved one smile. The smile looked much better on her compared to the sad look the biker had on earlier.

A sheepish smile…embarrassed perhaps?

‘But that was the truth, my dear Natsuki.’ She smiled inwardly.

“There is nothing to forgive,” Shizuru said with a sweet smile on her face, watching as her companion laid languidly on the soft grassy ground, letting out a comfortable sigh “Natsuki did nothing wrong after all.”

Somehow, Natsuki’s position made her nervous. It was never like this before, the biker had done this a couple of times in the past, and yet only now did Shizuru felt so self conscious about her position. She held back the urge to shift under the emerald gaze.

To move on from this topic and to get rid of the self consciousness, the Kaichou went to open the lid of her bento box, and at once sending a delicious waft of warm food into the air. She had prepared this earlier in the morning, enough for two, because it’s been a habit for her to share her lunch with Natsuki.

“Would Natsuki like to eat? I see that she has no food with her.” A Karaage + rice + salad combo was prepared elegantly on the red and black bento box, with two pairs of chopsticks ready by the side.

She opened the drink canister and poured some onto the cap, before taking a sip of the chamomile tea she had brought from home. It was such a blissful moment right now, only the two of them, lounging at a secret place only both of them knew about. Surrounded by the beautiful nature, and just enjoying each other's company. The heavy topic had lifted off their shoulders, thankfully, and Shizuru can only hope that no such thing would be brought up for today.

It was too heavy.

“There is nothing to forgive,”

Natsuki lifted her head, listening to her friend's words. And... to some extend, she even dared believing into it. She knew that Shizuru felt hurt over it, but she forgave things so easily. She had been a very generous and caring person ever since. For now, the girl's mood enlightened a little bit as she stretched her lithe forms on the grass, resting her head on her arms.

"Hm?"

Shizuru really thought about everything, wasn't that just insane? At the moment, the dark haired girl didn't feel very hungry, but since there has been enough food for two, her gaze lingered on the Bento Box. Her eyes showed a little sparkle.

"Now, really. Karaage? You spoil me, Shizuru!"

Lifting up into a sitting position, Natsuki took one pair of the chopsticks, ready to go. If every awkward moment would end like this... aaah, well. How pleased expression was priceless by now. Just like a happy puppy that played with a Frisbee all day long.

But of course, she wouldn'T take the first bite. That would have been a little rude, since her friend spent time in the kitchen - not her.

The girl closed her eyes as a light breeze tugged her hair. My... this place had been just perfect. Nobody came along their way and they had all time in the world to eat and talk - and that already for years. Natsuki already started to forget why she had been so down in the first place.

The chiding tone contradicted the clearly pleased look on the biker’s face, eyes sparkling happily as she eyed the still steaming kaarage, rice and salad combo on the box. Ah…Shizuru wanted to pet her on the head for being so cute but the girl wouldn’t be happy with the child-like treatment.
And then she noticed that the girl was shifting awkwardly on her spot, eyes glancing at the Kaichou and the bento repeatedly, as though waiting for her to do something…and not having enough patience to wait for it.

“You can eat ahead,” Shizuru said with a smile, as though reading Natsuki’s mind. She knew the younger girl long enough to understand Natsuki’s unspoken words. A gift, perhaps? But Shizuru certainly treasure it. Natsuki was like an open book to her, sometimes. The corners of her mouth curled up in a smile at the sight of the smile upon her companion’s face.

Just like always during their lunch breaks, Shizuru’s hands moved in a controlled flow to pour the biker a cup of the tea. Long piano fingers took off off the lower cap of the canister; fill it with the warm drink before putting it down by the bento box, out of range from the long….legs wrapped in white calf-high socks.

Ara.

Bad eyes, they shouldn’t be looking there.

She glanced away to fight the uncontrollable urge to ran her hands along Natsuki’s smooth legs. This was not the first time it happened, and probably would not be the last. She didn’t want to give in to her desire like that night…

“What classes do you have after this?” played the change-of-topic card, and let’s just hope that this would distract her from the temptation that was Kuga Natsuki, sitting beside her in the short Fuuka Uniform skirt, eating happily.

Sheesh, Natsuki had ben so predictable, right? with one last glance, she looked at Shizuru before she prepared her chopsticks.

"Itadakimasu!",she swooned with a grin and went for the first piece. Oh god, they tasted so delicious! Her friend's cooking skills surely were beyond good and evil. The food was so much better than in the cafeteria - besides, it wasn't that crowded. And a nice bonus: No fangirls swooning over her company.

While Natsuki was occupied with the food, her eyes were closed, idly listening to the headphones around her neck. Since she forgot to switch the player off, she could hear the barest of sounds, to others it would have been only a buzzing noise; But her sense of hearing was a little better than others might have thought.

"the food is so delicious, Shizuru... I wish I could cook like that."

Well, if she had some food at home. Right. After school she planned a trip to the grocery as well. At least some instant noodles or such, so she wouldn'T starve completely.

"the food is so delicious, Shizuru... I wish I could cook like that."

At this a fake gasp was let out.

“Ara! Natsuki cooking?” crimson eyes widened dramatically and a hand was laid against her cheek as Shizuru acted as though she was surprised out of her life “perhaps Natsuki wanted to be a good housewife?”

At that she let out a fake sniff.

“My Natsuki is all grown up….”

That was a joke, of course. She just couldn’t stand not teasing Natsuki, it was an automatic default setting for her. And besides, the last time she had teased the biker was inside her dorm room this morning, she could not go longer without a tease, of course. Shizuru misses the cute blush on the pale cheeks.

“Now that Natsuki wanted to cook like this…perhaps I’m not needed anymore?”

The Kaichou sometimes cooked for the younger girl when she came over to the dorm room. This used to be like an everyday thing for them before the carnival thing happened. That even threw their friendship into chaos, and their old habits would have to be renewed now, during the calm moments to heal everything that had been broken back then.

"Ehh... I don'T expect you to cook for me all the time. You have duties as well, Shizuru", was the only thing she could respond, looking up from the food for a second.

“Now that Natsuki wanted to cook like this…perhaps I’m not needed anymore?”

Her eyebrows twitched in slight annoyance, but for now, Shizuru only earned a huff for this.

"Do you really think that I reduce you on your housewife-skills? Come on, you should know better than this..."

Unconsciously, Natsuki started to chew on a chopstick - which was a complete no-go. As she realized what she was doing, the girl stopped it immediately. Old habits. They really never died, right?

But now, for real: she was very grateful that Shizuru cared so much about her. But, someday the dark-haired girl had to learn how to manage such things on her own. It really was about time. Well... somehow, she always got along, and if she had to buy instant food or hide all the mess under her bed.

It worked pretty well over the summer, so why not now?

“My duties right now is to be alongside Natsuki as she finishes up her education,” Shizuru said smoothly as she watched her companion chewed on her chopsticks before stopping with a startled jerk.

One thing came to mind.

“Ara. Does that not mean that I’m assuming the role of the housewife right now?” and a certain someone was the husband, of course…or should it be the other way around? though yes, the biker has issues with household chores and the likes, she knew the girl would get better at them if she would only practiced.

And if Natsuki managed that, perhaps there would be a day where there would be no leftovers of instant noodles, empty chips bags, half eaten bottles of mayonnaise and cans of soda hidden under her bed like a heap of treasure and the usual Sundays where Shizuru would lend a hand and help the girl (read: order) to clean the mess in the room.

Perhaps.

The two then proceeded to take turns eating out of the bento box, and there were several instances where Shizuru had to hold herself back from hand feeding the cute girl who’s sitting beside her right now. Completely satisfied with the food, happy with the moment, Natsuki didn't even realize that her old friend had ‘forgotten’ to bring along a packet of mayonnaise to go with the chicken.

But Shizuru was too happy about that to even bring it up.

That white goop of evil should just…stay away.

Even though just for a short moment.

Moments afterwards the school bell ring once more to signal the end of lunch break and also the start of the second session of the school. And for the Kaichou, it was time once more to tackle the paperwork waiting on her desk.

"Oi... Shizuruu~"

Natsuki lowered her head, about to yield in despair. Really, why had that woman such fun in teasing her like that?

"Not. Housewife. My companion! Doesn't that sound better?"

Well... the dark-haired girl hated the term "housewife". It was old, dusty and only showed old patterns where the woman had to stay at home and the man brought the money. All about that cliché. Life didn't wrk like that anymore, why didn't people get it? Everybody had the chance to construct his life however he wanted.

Mh. And if it was Shizuru's wish to become that sort of... person? Staying at home, taking care of family? It wouldn't be the sort of existence Natsuki secretly wished for. She wanted to travel, see the world. The girl wanted to do all the things she missed until now. And if it was smoking a cigarette without getting scolded. Ok, that was a poor example, but still.

Natsuki wanted to bring up her thoughts, but as always, the ringing school bell threw her out of planned concepts.

"eeeegh... I don't want to...", she snarled, but eventually the girl girl got on her feet, offering Shizuru a hand.

Natsuki didn't really think about that act, just pulled Shizuru on her feet to support her a little.

"Ah, no need to thank me", she simply replied, tilting her head.

"Shizuru? what's that blush for?"

Eyebrows arched in curiosity. That was something new to her. She couldn't remember to see her friend actually blush like that. Really, that was just... weird. Only from offering her a helping hand?

"Didn'T know we were so sensitive, ara!"

imitating Shizuru'S voice right now, she couldn't help it but to snort and grin. Now she began to understand why her counterpart loved the teasing to much. Maybe she should keep it up for a while, right?

They walked next to each other, in silence for a while. Natsuki used the time to flip idly through the playlist of her mp3-player. Mhh... Running out of good music. Well, that kind of Music Shizuru wouldn't appreciate too much. When she would be already on the way to buy the helmet and food, she could also check a store for a few CD's right? It wouldn't hurt.

"When are you free for today?", she asked after a while, out of the blue.

She wanted to cringe at the bad impersonation of her, but the calm girl only rolled her eyes skyward as she pried her fingers off of Natsuki’s.

“I do not sound like that, Natsuki.”

And her voice does not…sound that nasally! But the snort and grin that came from her companion was worth it though, she’ll gladly suffer through bad jokes and impersonation if that would mean more happy Natsuki moments.

The way back to the school building was spend in silence, with them walking close to each other unconsciously, shoulders brushing briefly. Natsuki fiddled with her mp3 player and Shizuru amused herself by watching the students racing towards the school around them. A couple of waves and smiles were given, as always, as she saw the girls who usually flocked to her and the biker dubbed ‘the rabid fangirls’.

The only reason they’re not flocking over right now was probably because of this person who’s walking right beside her. The uneasy and confused looks on their faces were enough proof to justify that thought.

"When are you free for today?"

That question popped out of nowhere and it took the Kaichou by surprise.

Free…?

“I’m free after school,” the brunette tilted her head a bit, wondering why Natsuki would ask this out of nowhere. Obviously the topic of getting a helmet had flown past her mind because of the tension they had earlier this morning.

They entered the lobby of the High School building and walked towards the staircase, not noticing that the students made way for them, the intimidating combo of the school’s most famous Student Council President and the school’s resident rebellious ice princess.
