The Yuki Kajiura Worship Thread
Because I'm obsessed with the collab soundtrack me and my friend did recently, I had to make this thread. Celebrate the work and career of this amazing composer by sharing her music beyond the Mai-HiME/Otome series. To share her work from the Mai-Series, go to this thread: The Music of Mai Hime/Otome/Zwei/Sifr
---
To start things off, here and three of my favorites from the anime series, Noir. Yuki-sama's best work, imo:
Yuki Kajiura - Noir - Canta Per Me
Yuki Kajiura - Noir - Salva Nos
Yuki Kajiura - Noir - Secret Game
Share the Yuki goodness with me!
Re: The Yuki Kajiura Worship Thread
Let's see what we've got here.
I really love Yuki Kajiura. She's definitely an amazing artist.
Let's start out with one of my favorite pieces from Mai-HiME:
Emotion is a big part of music for me, and this piece is just one huge ball of emotion. The scene it plays in, the one where Shizuru is confronted by Haruka, is an extremely emotional scene to begin with. The violins with the slow piano in the background completely set the background for this scene. If you turned the volume down on your speakers while watching the scene, it wouldn't even REMOTELY have the same impact. As the scene gets more serious, the violins get more pronounced and are joined by drums. It just really captures the mood in the perfect way.
THEN we have Kalafina...This is like, Yuki Kajiura's harem- I mean band made up of three or four different girls with amazing voices. I can't really say a whole lot about them other than that I love the work they've done so far.
This is the ED from the new "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica" show:
...and THIS is the OP for the show "Sora no Woto" which was one of my favorite shows of 2010:
I will be adding MUCH MORE to this later.

Re: The Yuki Kajiura Worship Thread
:D Awesome picks, Kristen! Yuki-sama's music reaches deep into the heart and soul of the series she's composing for. Not many composers out there can do that, it's practically a gift.
Kokuyou no Kimi ~Amai Yuuwaku from Mai-HiME is a perfect example, nothing reflects the confrtation between Haruka/Yukino and Shizuru better than that piece. In fact, Kokuyou no Kimi ~Amai Yuuwaku can be considered an anthem for the Festival arc as a whole. Taking into account all the tragedies and personal moments that occur in the storyline.
Same thing with a series like Madlax. Going into the heart and soul of a single character:
Anyone who had the privilege of watching Madlax knows Limelda's role as a sniper who's obsessed with killing Madlax. Which is really showing her deep affections, but I digress. :3 Limelda's theme song is soft and very relaxing, considering what she is on the surface. She is a conflicted character with a personal mission that is more important to her than anything else in her life. I think this piece suits her perfectly.

I love Yuki Kajiura's work, especially the Mai Hime/Otome tracks and the Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika's whole soundtrack(including the opening/closing).

noir - Lullaby
Quite possibly my favorite song in the entire soundtrack nao that I look back on it. Lullaby is such a beautiful song, no matter which version you listen to (though I prefer the original Engrish one). There are many videos featuring Lullaby on YouTube, but I used ^ that one because it shows Altena and Chloe during their peaceful moments. Yes, they're both a couple of sick puppies, yet I cannot deny how wonderful they are when everything else in the world doesn't matter for a brief moment. This song reflects that. The song in the video is followed by Chloe's theme, an odd yet creative piece by Yuki Kajiura.

*o* You guys are awesome! Worthy selections you've chosen!
Yuki Kajiura - Madlax OST - Track 7 - Elenore
Elenore Baker's theme song is another beautiful entry from the Madlax OST. Yuki made sure it reflected the kind and very devoted character of Elenore, who would stop at nothing to protect Margaret. Like many of her tunes, it almost sounds like a chant for the character. Madlax is a dark series, so expect a lot of those haunting tunes mixed with some really good techno, which I will share soon. :3

Re: The Yuki Kajiura Worship Thread
Beautiful and mystifying song. ^^; Have to admit I was never big on .hack//SIGN. The music on the other hand is incredible. I always had it on as background noise when it used to play on Cartoon Network late at night and always felt the soundtrack. I wish the show itself had that same effect on me.
My obsession with Madlax's OST continues:
Yuki Kajiura - Madlax OST -09- Vanessa
Theme song of Vanessa Rene, my favorite character in the series. The stubborn woman who wanted answers. <3
