Never worked you say? I object! The only way I can get my old games to work these days is to blow into them! It worked every time back in the day too! And mine never got rusty...I wasn't spitting on them .__.

Back in my day, toys were more durable.

Re: Back in my day
On the contrary, the air you blow from your mouth has moisture, from your saliva, which sloooowly rusts your games. Reasons why your games worked after blowing in them is putting them back in the console. Cartridges sometimes don't connect to the console, so taking it out and putting it back in is the main solution why the game works afterwards. Not dust. Why do you think old cartridges have a harder time working? Because it's OLD, which makes the connection between that and the console harder to do. Not dust, dust and more dust. Even I have an old cartridge that sometimes takes a while to work, but it still works after a while of taking it out and putting it back in the console.IlliterateKoi wrote:Nymphetamine wrote:

Lol, I know that there is moisture in the air I'm blowing into the cartridge, but mine never rusted And, I'm just saying that it never worked for me just taking it out and putting it back in, whereas blowing on it made it work first time. The same is true now -- I have no trouble getting my old games to work once I've blown on them *shrugs*
Besides, I found my copy of A Link To The Past for the SNES on the street, soaked in water. It worked just fine and still does! A bit of spit isn't going to break those old cartridges XD

Better anime too. Sailor Moon and DBZ (in DBZ's prime when I didn't know better) were the highlight of Cartoon Network's career.

True that!

Back in my day (pre-Sailor Moon), the only strong animated women were Wonder Woman, She Hulk, She-Ra and a small amount of other legends. I'm glad they paved the way for all female protagonists and heroes to come. In 2013, we have so many great female heroes of all shapes and sizes.
Re: Back in my day
Thank heavens for that!!
Back in my day, all hell broke loose when the tape for the VHS didn't last to record your favorite show and you weren't there to watch it.

Re: Back in my day
Back in my day, I wore out my VCR rewatching every single movie I had. There's something special on VHS tapes. DVD/BLU-Ray don't have that same rewatch quality since the trailers before the movie starts are modern day crap. There was no menu so you didn't have to reach over to the remote. Most importantly, films from 1999-2004 (VHS's last year) looked decent in VHS quality. The lower quality made the CGI look less-fake. Sharper quality exposes shitty effects. :'3 Irony~ It irons~

Back in my day we only had DOS.
But girls still danced suggestively. Maybe it's a cultural thing?

I was a simple author first on FF.net, Luu. :'3
But yeah, I do wonder how this happened.
Re: Back in my day
I love to see these early works! Is great to see the start of something. obviously this is not the beginning, xD but still, I would see... If I can be inspired by something, I thought we'd dedicate to illustrate a story :D

:'3 Oh yeah, I keep forgetting. In 2034 when I go over the origins of MM members, shezaei-neko will be remembered as the girl I first met on deviantART through Pup. >:3

You'll be telling that tale around a bonfire. Which by the way will be started by lots of Yaoi doujins and novels.
And the youngsters around you will tell you: Tell us more, Walrus Shogun!!
