The mind of a Child

I've rewatched Mai hime recently and something occured to me. The show is mainly focused on the Hime girls ad festival, but what about their childs and orphans?

We've seen hints that they have minds of their own and are clealy not simple killing magical, mutant, machine monster... things. This is epecially for orphans who come range from mean, vicious monsters to abstract and quirky such as the panty-stealer and the cake-eater.

Nagi said in an omake that an orphan is a child that could not find a compatible hime, but he never tells us how that works. Do they need similar personalities or something?

So I ask you if a child could somehow communicate, what they say? Would they have similar personalities to their respectful hime?

Here are some of my personal thoughts

Kagutsuchi: Proud, head-strong possibly hot-headed, not very sutble

Duran: Not very social but fiercely loyal, easily angered, dislikes Shizuru, 'love to hate' relationship with Kiyohime

Miroku: unknown

Gakutenou: Kind and very honor-bound, good leadership qualities

Hari: Similar to Duran but more softer thanks to Akane

Julia: Very quiet/rarely talks, has a crush on Nao (who doesn't?)

Gennai: Strict, honorable and straight forward (like a ninja )

Vlas: Like Duran and Julia not very social but easier to appoach,believer in faith, "tolerates" Yukariko's husband

Diana: Silent observer, prefers 'knowledge is power' appoach to problems. Harukino shipper

Kiyohime: Elegant but deadly, slightly nuts when it comes to romance, loves natsuki (as much as Shizuru)

Yatagarasu: unknown

Mashiro: well yeah....

So funny story a while ago I actually came up with something similiar when explaining My Hime to a friend a few years ago. I tended to focus on Natsuki and Duran since they are my favorite but I described the other Childs to him in a simliar manner as you do here. Great minds and all that?

To me, a lot of the CHILDs have a clear understanding of their HiME on a personal level, otherwise they wouldn't be so compatible. What their HiME goes through, they probably figured it out. They see the HiME as mirrors of themselves and protect them to the very end. Some would say dogs can read your emotions when you're feeling down, same can be said here. Emotion is powerful, a link between all living things.
