Meet Cissy Vaine [Mai-HiME request for Wolvenbane08]

Hola, mundo! Luu here delivering a special request to Jenna Parrott or Wolvenbane08 as you know here on the forum.

The story is called "Meet Cissy Vaine". It came to me during a conversation with Jenna the other night when I posted a screen cap from the iconic opening of Mai-HiME. The screen cap included a shot of several Fuka Academy students before Chie and Aoi jump back into frame. If those background characters that played absolutely NO role in the story have any names, I'd like to know them. For now, I'm using one of them (using an original name) since Jenna pointed her out to me.

^ This attractive young woman just reeks of snob girl with her own posse. You know, the type that's usually in charge of student councils in other anime series. Yes, this will probably feel a bit AU since this character never spoke or did anything throughout the Mai-Series. But I am going out of my way for my friend to bring cleverness and hilarity to some degree. I hope she will like it. :)

Summary: 17 year old Cissy Vaine is the talk of Fuka Academy ever since she took over as Executive Director. After what appears to be a long successful run, she encounters a small problem when she aims for the highest position possible.

"And that is why the water quality CANNOT be fixed so easily! Budget, budget, budget! You all need to understand why we simply cannot have what we want."

"This is not looking good, Haruka..."

"Shush, Yukino! This is disciplinary action for the 90% of the student body who refused to do their studies during the crisis a few weeks ago! Just stick to the water given to you by the academy and deal with it!"

Haruka Suzushiro, a woman without fear or remorse for the hard times an individual must go through before the storm clears. She was someone I looked up to, until I realized how much of a bonehead she is. And that Yukino Kikukawa, always playing Miss goody two-shoes. These two try hard, that much is clear. However, this must end now.

"I disagree wholeheartedly with my opponent. When it comes to design, develop and implementing strategic plans, you all are forgetting the most important thing there is. Money!"

Haruka glared fiercely. "And where exactly do you plan on getting this money, huh?"

"Where else? My father's wallet."

"WHAT!?"

"My dear fellow students, we've been sitting in this auditorium for far too long now. Most of the time, Suzushiro-san dragged her repetitious statements on and on without end. You see my ignorant opponent; you want a school brimming with rules they will accept? You need to first compensate our students."

"Why you-"

"-And isn't it strange that your parents, who attended the finest boarding school in the country and make almost as much of my family, wasn't suggested even once to clean up Fuka? I'd say you're being selfish."

Miss Suzushiro looked over at the crowd, only to hear feint murmurs of agreement. "This can't be happening to me...."

"Students! If I am elected, every decision will cost-effective and done in a time-efficient manner. Starting with my first promise...if I am elected, not only will brand new vending machines with water bottles replace the fountains, candy and soda will also be free!"

A roar of applause and cheers swept throughout the Academy, leaving Haruka's opponent in the limelight of success. She was carried away by the kendo team and taken outside to fluff her ego further.

"Hi. My name is Narcissa Vaine Black, but my close friends call me Cissy Vaine for short. It is the name I have chosen to call myself and it is the name, you will worship. I'm a first year student at Fuuka Academy who just happened to win her first election against one of the Student Council members. Suzushiro-san was good in her day, but it's a new regime now! The one I'd like to call my own!

I have been around Fuuka for quite a long time; my Papa sent me after setting up business with the Academy's very own chairwoman, Mashiro Kazahana. Tokyo is a very boring place anyway, nothing but girls who failed to recognize my talents. Ha! So here I am and though a lot of strange things happened during the course of the school year, I find myself breaking out of my shell and reaching new heights!"


The school bells of Fuuka Academy echoed throughout the region as legions of students make their way to their classes. Inside, the Student Council began to organize together to begin another day of law, order and proper etiquette.

"So Haruka hasn't shown up yet?"

"Haruka is visiting her parents for a while, I'd figure she'd want me to tag along but-"

Yukino, don't worry about me so much. I admit defeat, okay? That...GIRL...just make sure she does a good job, okay? I love this Academy and...you...just do your best okay?!

Of course, Haruka-chan.

"I see. In that case, I'll be taking a nice long walk."

"Miss Fujino, you can't leave now! That new girl will be joining us, we should properly introduce ourselves."

"I know. Now is not the time so please excuse me for a while," smiled the Kaichou of the academy as she makes her exit gracefully.

"This isn't looking good, Haruka would of made sure everyone was assembled together. Things have been awkward between myself and Miss Fujino ever since the battles ended, so I feel a bit nervous around her. It's because of her, the HiME..."

"HiME?" spoke a light voice.

"Ah! Cissy-san! I had no idea you were standing there!"

"Calm down, Kikukawa. Just because I dominated the elections, doesn't mean I'm all bad. What do you expect from the school number one celebrity!"

"Celebrity?"

"That's right! You see, MY first order of business is to organize a grand event before graduation. What better than to include one of MY personal ideas."

"Please Crissy-san, what do you plan to do?"


"A musical?" questioned Natsuki Kuga, one of the twelve HiME and student at Fuuka Academy.

"Yes!" replied Aoi Senoh. "Cissy-san wants to show good faith by organizing a musical for the upcoming graduation festival. All in the name of charity!"

"It's the talk of the town. Come on, Kuga. You couldn't of missed it something like THAT," added a very sarcastic Chie Harada.

"Ahem! Let's just say I've been a bit too busy to notice anything lately. Besides girls, you should really share this gossip with Mai."

"But, she's in America for the weekend to visit Takumi and Akira," Aoi sighed in disappointment.

Natsuki let out an embarrassed laugh. "Please, don't remind me. Cleaning after Mikoto is not my idea of fun."

"I've got to say you're a lot more talkative lately, Kuga. It suits you" chimed in Chie.

Natsuki blinked her eyes in confusion over Chie's statement. "You think so? It's not like I'm a complete social failure."

"Annnnnd there's bonus number two, Aoi. Kuga showing she has a sense of humor."

The girls laughed together which brought the most joy to Natsuki; after experiencing a hellish nightmare during the "Carnival". "Oh shaddup, you know I can be silly when I need to be," said Natsuki before turning her head to notice a large crowd of male and female students following close behind the new Executive Director. "Speaking of silly, her royal highness makes her way to the town square."

Aoi's eyes light up like Christmas lights upon seeing Cissy's arrogant strut down the hallway. "She's so pretty! I hear her father is a big shot in the automobile business!"

Chie laughed at Aoi's starstruck nature and adjusted her glasses. "I heard Cissy's family owns every single record company in Tokyo."

Both Chie and Aoi stare at Natsuki in hopes she would know something about the new Executive Director. "What!?"

"Spill!" shouted Chie and Aoi in perfect unison.

Natsuki faceplamed herself in embarrassment then lets out a small shrug. "Fine. I heard she can eat a banana with her feet."

"WHAT!?" yelled the girls.

"Relax, it's a joke."

As the girls finished their conversation, Cissy reached the main entrance and couldn't help overhearing the trio of girls. She inched her way closer with that "strut" Aoi mentioned earlier.

"Why good morning, ladies. I heard my lovely name being whispered in your conversation." sneered Cissy as she flipped her long brunette hair and turned her attention to the blue haired maiden standing by her. "It also looks like someone hasn't read her student manual for dress codes...hasn't she, Miss?"

"Kuga, Natsuki."

"Natsuki," repeated Cissy as she tugged on Kuga's white hood. "Unauthorized hoodie."

"Excuse me?" asked a very annoyed Natsuki.

Aoi waved her arms in excitement. "No no!" she said hurriedly. "Please don't be upset at my friend, Cissy-san! I spoke to her about that hood a million times! It won't happen again!"

"Now hold on a second..."

"Yes, make sure that it doesn't. Possible lice infestation she could be hiding in there."

"OI! NOW SEE HERE..."

"Make sure we never have this discussion again, Kuga-san," she warned affectionately...which made everyone around her transform into a drooling sap.

"So beautiful!"

"So graceful!"

"Cissy is a goddess!"

Chie Harada dug in her pocket and whipped out her cell phone to record everyone around her that has clearly fallen to the siren beauty and song that Cissy unleashed. "Ladies and gentlemen, Fuuka's Most Shallow," quietly whispered Chie.

"Now that you're all here my very own student body, I would like to announce the upcoming Graduation Festival! The one a few months ago was so dull! The Student Council couldn't even come up with a real scary haunted house theme!" laughed Cissy in the highest form of self-superiority possible. "So instead we will create a more convincing event by having a real Broadway style musical production of Pygmalion! I will be the director of this show and all those willing to help out are more than welcome. Form a line outside the Student Council room at noon to sign up! I'll be waiting!" shouted Cissy as she blew kisses to her entire audience.

"I swear, who does that girl think she is?!" barked Natsuki as her attacker walked away with glee. That is until she decided to turn around and face Natsuki once more. "Hey Natsuki!" the brunette shouted, as she pulled her shoes off and removed her socks. "May someone be so kind as to give me a Banana?"

"I WOULD!" swung in Takeda Masashi; Captain of the Kendo team, much to Natsuki's surprise. As he handed the fruit over to the arrogant girl, she positioned herself on the ground, taking the fruit in-between her feet and begins peeling it effortlessly.

"No way!" exclaimed Aoi. "What flexibility!"

Consuming the banana in just a few short bites, Cissy tosses the banana peel right in front of Natsuki and picks herself back up to take a bow. The entire student body, with the exception of one, gave a round of applause what seemed like an eternity, much to Natsuki's dismay.

"Now you have another grand accomplishment of mine to share with your friends, Miss Kuga," Cissy stated blandly as she walked away with her crowd.

"Forget it, I'm out of here."

Chie tilted her glasses in confusion, "where are you going, Kuga? Don't tell me her royal highness got to you?" she added with a smirk.

"No it's not that. THAT SHOW-OFF! I'm just going to think something over..."

Natsuki stops her sentence upon noticing Takeda walking by. "Hey you! Why do you like that girl anyway!?"

"Sorry Natsuki! At least Cissy treats men with respect! Can't say the same for you! It's over between us! And to think I wasted my feelings on you in that letter."

Chie raised her eyebrow and curled her lips in suspicion. "What letter? Tell us more, Takeda!"

"Well you see..."

A loud CRACK is suddenly heard, leaving Takeda knocked out on the ground with a broken kendo stick next to his almost lifeless corpse.

"Idiot. See you girls later."

"Wait, Kuga! Just tell us one thing! Are you in love with anyone right now? Come on, you know we'd never tell anyone," winked Chie. Natsuki smiled at the request knowing she can trust Mai's friends now more than ever.

"Yes. I am. Until I return, I won't be able to tell her that. Later." replied Natsuki as she mounted her bike and raced out of Fuuka Academy.


"I will be counting on you all to participate in MY festival this weekend! We can prepare fast if we start now!"

"Yes, Lady Cissy!"

"Marvelous, darlings. Might I humbly request that you big strong men help me with carrying all the sound equipment outside? I'm so weak and gentle like a lily flower, otherwise I'd do it myself."

I'LL GLADLY DO ANYTHING FOR YOU, LADY CISSY!

"No, please allow me!"

"No, me first!"

"HEY I SAW HER FIRST, LOSERS!"

The brunette girl waved her soft delicate hand to capture the attention of the bickering kendo team. "Boys, please don't fight over me! You will all get your turn soon enough after Graduation. Right now, work together as a team. Teamwork makes me really happy."

With hearts in their eyes and enough Passions of Youth to fill Yukariko's chapel, the entire kendo team assembles to help with the sound equipment. "AS YOU COMMAND, LADY CISSY!".

"Oh stop, you silly boys."

Cissy exited the kendo club to meet up with her group of female friends. "Ladies, how nice of you to join me. I take it you all want to help me set up lighting on stage?"

"Yes! We are privileged to be in your presence, Lady Cissy! My name is Naru Kaibara, I'm a first year student like you! These are my two friends, Ami and Kairi."

"Nice to meet you, Lady Cissy!"

"Charmed I'm sure. Shall we begin?"

"YES!" shouted the trio of girls.

Why. How come I act this way. Is it so difficult to offer kindness to someone in return? I'm just so used to everything going my way that...no, can't think about that right now. We have a show to do.

As Cissy observed every hard working crew members that is preparing for the event, she took one last sip of her juice before throwing the can away in the trash. "Are that many super spicy taiyo ramen shops necessary? No matter, these booths will seem like street vendors once the musical production is ready to go!"

Ever since she was a little girl, Cissy was raised to be a performer on stage and play the piano. She practiced endlessly writing melodies, so most of this show will feature her contributions. Flashes of her past success in the music and theater field began to play inside her mind, in hopes of putting on the best show yet. "They will love the work I put in, finally I can shine bright!"

If I'm not a perfectionist, then I might as well be dead. That's what my mother told me. Is that why mother? Is that...

"SURPRISE, LADY CISSY! YOUR LIGHTING CREW IS READY!" shouted Naru and her friends.

Startled by the sudden appearance of her hired hands, Cissy clenches her fist and lets them have it. "Idiots! Do you realize what time it is?! You were supposed to be here ten seconds ago!"

"WE'RE SO SORRY, LADY CISSY! PLEASE FORGIVE US AND SHOW MERCY!"

Laughing at their pathetic display, Cissy accepts their apology. "Hooo ho ho ho! In that case, I have no choice. Take your positions ladies! With the cast already picked for the show, it's time to test the stage." Cissy assembled the girls to set up the stage then hook up all the sound equipment together. This show is planned to be a night show as Cissy felt that the best outdoor spectacle happens under the stars. She was indeed a perfectionist, lending her family's money towards the school was one thing, but making sure the entire musical is centered around her song writing was another. She was dedicated, perhaps a bit too dedicated.

"All right, ladies! Time for a little rehearsal!" exclaimed the beautiful brunette as her trio of helpers gave her the thumbs up. "This is Cissy Vaine welcoming you all to Fuka Gakuen's School Graduation Festival 2005! Ready to perform for you tonight is ME, Cissy Vaine! I'd like to get things started with a song I've wrote! Aozora ippai ni-HEY! MORONS! This isn't a cabaret! Could you tone it down with, uh, some color?!"

Apparently Kairi and Ami messed up the lighting, making Cissy glow like a cheap nick nack from Spencers. "Cabaret?" replied the confused Ami, a small girl with eyes like a doll. "Uh, sure Lady Cissy, but what does cabaret lighting look like?"

Cissy's eyes widened at the girl's remark. "Never mind, let's take two and I'll show you how it's done!" replied the already frustrated girl. "I've went over the lighting methods a dozen times with them last night, how difficult could it be. Hmph! Amateurs."

Naru Kaibara suddenly approached Cissy and pressed a hot can of coffee against her cheek. "OUCH! Hey! What's the big idea!?"

"Please relax, Lady Cissy. I've come to relax you a bit, you could use it after we spent hours setting up the stage. Perhaps that's why the girls messed up just now?"

Accepting the beverage gift, Cissy wraps her thick handkerchief around it so she doesn't burn herself. "No, they're just stupid. I don't think they realize how important this show is, they just seem to just oogle their eyes at me. It's like, totally creepy."

Naru remains quiet for a while, taking a few sips of her own coffee before speaking again. Her voice suddenly deepens into a serious tone. "So, who is playing Eliza Doolittle? I saw the entire cast chosen on the bulletin board, except the girl playing Eliza."

"Hoooo ho ho ho ho! Don't be stupid yourself, Naru-san. I'm playing Eliza of course! I've been wanting this role ever since I can remember and it should rightfully be mine in a show I created myself."

"..."

"Why would you ask such a stupid question anyway?" questioned Cissy as she suddenly noticed Naru with her head lowered, squeezing the hot can of coffee. "Hey...HEY! Your hand..."

"Oh! I'm such a klutz, I couldn't even feel the pain being so lost in thought. I must of missed what you just said too, please forgive me Lady Cissy."

No it's okay...god, maybe I should take her to Miss Yohko...no. If I do that, she'll think I'm some weakling who is concerned for another.

"...Be careful next time by not asking such stupid questions."

"...okay."

"By the way. Do you have a middle name or something? There's a letter in-between your full name on the application and since you happen to be the most competent of my help, I guess I could grant you a nickname."

"...It's Tomoe."

Looks like this story is becoming a Two-Shot! On my next day off, I will finish Cissy's story completely. Expect the conclusion of her story, in addition to a bit of yuri with a returning bubuzuke. That is all I have to say for now. :)

Narcissa, sounds like a good name for her. I probably would be the only guy not turned on by her charms if I ever attended Fuuka Academy.

Oh I'm not into shallow women, but they do present a level of depth within the realms of fiction. :) Enough to have the reader (or viewer) understand them to some degree.

Sorry for how long it took me to comment on this. I was unceremoniously dragged out of the house by my mother to socialize with (and be minorly molested by (she was drunk) one) a bunch of old people.

Gotta say, I love that you threw Tomoe in there. Can't say I'm an overall fan of her in Otome...but I like where this could go. (Tomoe/Cissy...instigated by yours truly?)
