The Plot: Wasted Potential?

Despite the plot of the Otome series going in all directions, do you guys think that it could had been better if the writers had focused on creating a good story while being organized?

I believe if they had tried to melt it bit more with the HiME past it would have turned out a lot better

It's kinda like how I felt about the Star Wars films before Episode I: The Phantom Menace (ugh, the prequel films) came out. There are a lot of unexplained events talked about in both Mai-HiME and Mai-Otome that indicate that the series are linked to each other. If I'm going to swallow this premise, then a new Mai-Series needs to be made to fill those gaps. Mai-Otome Sifr. was a start, albeit a small one.

I also felt that this would be a great AU but I believe the writers sort of chickened out in the end.

idk... it seemed more to me like they got lazeh and just started throwing random things in... i can see the semblances, but a lot of things didn't quit fit in my mind.

^ I agree. They just made things needlessly complicated and the ties to Hime make no sense.

Yeah, true. The Mai-Series won't make 100% sense until those "holes" are filled. The way they are now, we're given two sets of stories that we must accept and enjoy.

Some of those holes don't make any sense anyway, I mean how could Hime lead into Otome? What would happen to have turned Earth into Earl?
