10 years ago on 2004-09-30, a little series called 'Mai-HiME' went public on Japanese television. A series unlike any other at the time; being one of the few (arguably, the only one) not trying to recreate the all-females-with-superpowers success of Sailor Moon. Many other copycats in the 2000s tried, but none of them could keep a lasting appeal. 'Mai-HiME' on the other hand, brought us a contemporary fairy tale with fascinating characters, involved in a fantasy plot; going through emotional realism which gave us a genuine connection to them. Whether it was the naive temptation of Mikoto, the emotional distress of Mai, the strong feelings Shizuru had for another woman, the difficulty to disconnect from reality in Shiho; 'Mai-HiME' was refreshing and still holds up well today as one of the all time best. Mai-HiME's success led to a series of light novels, manga, video games, toys, shirts, accessories, a distant spin-off sequel in Mai-Otome/Zwei/Sifr and legions of fans throughout the world. We in this group, have gotten into many other franchises since, but we always look back on this series as the reason we're here in the first place.

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Mai-HiME, knowing what it brought you and how much of an impact it's had in your life. I thank this series for a lot of amazing things in my life since 2004, but none greater than being responsible for the discovery of my girlfriend. Our love for this series brought us together and I'm forever thankful. Thankful to Sunrise, thankful to the MM superstars who remain here, thankful to any fan who still supports it and thankful for the loyal ShizNat fans who are the most passionate shippers in the world.

At 60 episodes and tons of canon and AU illustrated/written/audio media to go with it, The Mai-Series will always stand as a testament to greatness.

OOKAMIDESU (Dye) and FIRESPHERE306 (Kara) are now honorary moderators of Mai-Multiverse Forum! I'm really the Head Master of the forum, so with Dye and Kara joining Krystal, ShezNek and Deppy-The Five Columns are finally *one*.

They will assist you with anything you need and answer any questions regarding the forum and it's functionality. Give Kara some time to adjust, though. I want the others to put her through some rigorous Otome training.
