Now everyone knows about the upcoming manga releases for Sailor Moon, but once the final volume is released, the Sailor Moon short stories collection will be available!



In this first of two collections of short stories, we find our favorite Sailor Guardians and their friends encountering new mysteries, enemies, allies, and once more saving the day. After the daughter of a foreign diplomat transfers to her school, Chibi-Usa's male classmates suspiciously stop attending classes. Upon investigation, Chibi-Usa discovers the new transfer student is a vampire! Mamoru’s birthday gift to Chibi-Usa turns out to be the brainwashing device of a depressed folk tale heroine come-to-life, seeking sympathy from fellow women and girls! Chibi-Usa’s Pink Sugar Heart Attack becomes literal when defeating a local sprite that has possessed the dentist she and Usagi visit to get their cavities treated. Then, other local sprites wreak havoc in the lives of Mako, Ami, and Rei as they and Mina and Usagi study for high school entrance exams. Finally, Chibi-Usa and her newfound BFF’s help out the quirky proprietor of a mysterious pawnshop that is under attack by both human and otherworldly entities!

Oh btw, for all you seramyu fan, Chieko Ochi, who played Naru in PGSM and Sailor Mercury in seramyu, recently posted this pic on her blog. And I got this off tumblr btw.

I nearly missed this! Earlier this year, Chieko got together with three other Sera Myu alum-moms and hung out with what I can only assume is their own personal junior Sailor Soldier league.

From left:

Nao Inada, who played Minako/Sailor Venus in 1999 and 2000. She appeared in Kaguya Shima Densetsu, Kaguya Shima Densetsu (Kaiteiban) Natsuyasumi! Houseki Tankentai, and Shin / Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi - Last Dracul Jokyoku.
Hisano Akamine, who played Ami/Sailor Mercury in 1999 and 2000. She appeared in the same shows as Nao.
Eri Kanda, who played Rei/Sailor Mars from 1999-2001. She appeared in the previously mentioned shows as well as Kessen / Transylvania no Mori - Shin Toujou! Chibi Moon wo Mamoru Senshi-tachi and Kessen / Transylvania no Mori (Kaiteiban) - Saikyou no Kataki Dark Cain no Nazo.

Viz Media Europe Acquires “Sailor Moon” Anime

Looks like Europe will be getting one of the most sought classic anime licenses. Toei Animation Europe has announced a DVD distribution deal for Sailor Moon has been signed with Viz Media Europe. The agreement covers "all the French-speaking European countries."

Toei lays out plans for Viz Media Switzerland to release the complete Sailor Moon saga in Germany (5 series/ 200 episodes) in German and German-subtitled Japanese, while Kazé will release the first series (46 episodes) in all the French-speaking European countries in French and French-subtitled Japanese.

A German newsletter issued from Viz Media Switzerland pencils in the DVD release for late this year or early 2014.

Viz Media, who licensed Inuyasha, will own the Sailor Moon anime. Not bad! Looks like Funimation lost out somehow.

New Sailor Moon Anime to Stream Worldwide
Series hits Niconico this winter

There's not much out there that's generated as much bubbling anticipation as the new Sailor Moon anime, and some more information surfaced during Sunday evening's Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Event #2 in Japan. The biggest news came from idol group Momoiro Clover Z, who confirmed that the anime will stream worldwide this winter.

The series is currently set to stream on Niconico, and Momoiro Clover Z will sing the opening and ending themes. The new Sailor Moon anime was previously set for a summer premiere, but was pushed back from that initial window.

As for the voice cast and staff, we'll have to wait a bit longer for info on all that. One thing we do know is, according to editor Fumio Osano, it won't be a direct remake of the original anime series, so it should be interesting to see what happens with the latest take on Naoko Takeuchi's beloved creation.

Yes! I was worried as to whether or not it they were making it. Thanks for the news Luu! I can't wait to watch it, especially since I finished the manga. They better do the final battle some justice, that was one of my favourite battles in the whole series.

Which final battle, Mi-Cray? All of Sailor Moon's final battles were five star confrontations. Even the one I like the least, Wiseman in Sailor Moon R, it took TWO Scepters Escalations to kill him and it took TWO Silver Crystals to destroy him in the anime. So awesome.

The final battle of Sailor Moon vs Galaxia, the manga version is epic, moving and waterfall tears inducing 0-0 oh yeah and I'm including the sacrifice of Eternal Sailor Moon to destroy Chaos, I was moved to tears, especially after Galaxia became good and died at peace because she was inspired by Sailor Moons will to live and go on T-T
