Yep, I play electric bass, trombone, and ocarina.(I also do some guitar stuff for my original project).

Also guess I miss part of this discussion being busy in chat, that's odd since I thought Mai Hime/Otome would have enough appeal to guys and girls to some extent equally.

I'm Italian and here I can say that, even if the fandom is quite small, we have a fair equal number of male and female fans :)

Yes, yes. That's because Mai-Otome is more action-oriented. Mai-HiME may gears towards girls (lesbians!) because of Shizuru and Natsuki. That's where the magic of the couple began (imo) and most of the female fans love HiME's more dramatic storyline in general.
