Kagutsuchi sighting in Cross Ange [also by Sunrise]

According to one of our Facebook MM members (planetwarrior), Kagutsuchi makes a cameo appearance in the latest Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons. He showed us this screen shot and added the following detail:

Yeah, I've given up on Cross Ange, but this is a cool Easter Egg, I'll admit. Kudos to you, Sunrise. Always remember what made your studio shine; the innovation and diversity that was Mai-HiME/Otome. Not the assembly line product of your Gundam franchise.

In the future episode, you're gonna see more Aura later on, and Ange is going with that dragon, meaning Ange is taking a role of Mai Tokiha and Aura is taking a role of Kagutsuchi. LOL, Ange is Stella(Seed Desitiny)/Mai of this whole series.

Haha, I'd like to think it's Sunrise trying to recapture the magic of Mai Tokiha through Ange.

Sunrise Inc. never forgot about Mai-HiME. They were milking the franchise long after Sifr. ended with video game cameos, Mai-HiME EXA and other small projects and cameos (like Kagutsuchi in Cross Ange). It's more like they don't have a clue how to create a new story for it. Zwei clearly had a 'Return of the Jedi' ending, so I doubt there will be any Ribbon-chan adventures.

Then again, Star Wars is coming out with Episode 7, finally. If Sunrise thinks there's more story to tell, then I beg them to just show us everything in-between Mai-HiME and Mai-Otome.
