Midori Sugiura explains the history of Fuka [MH omake]

:D In case you couldn't read those subtitles fast enough, here's Midori Sugiura's explaining the history/origins of Fuka. I'll even include Mai Tokiha's questions and failsauce:

: Apparently, this Fuuka district was once written as "FUUKA".

: Oh. That's the same spelling as the shrine with the wall painting.

: EXACTLY. And Fuka Shrine was once a satellite shrine of the Fuka no Miya mother shrine.

: Fuka no Miya? Oh, you mean like this place and that place?

: WRONG! That's the Mihashira Shrine... ...and the Obsidian Palace. They are related to the Fuka no Miya, though.

: Oh. But it sure must've been a lot of work to build all those places under the school.

: No, the opposite. According to my research, the Shrine dates back to the 4th century. That's earlier than the establishment of the Yamato Court. In other words, the Fuka no Miya existed before then! And from then on, this area was forbidden land on which no one was allowed to set foot. And this lasted until the end of the Edo Period. But then in the Meiji Period the characters for the name were suddenly changed the Fuka Academy was built here and the town of Fuka came into existence. Like they were trying to hide something. In other words, it all started because Fuka no Miya was in this area. So the way I see it, this Fuka no Miya is really the Himorogi or place where the Gods descend and as such, it's like the gate through which one can draw upon the power of the HiME Star. And the HiME Star is the source of the HIghly advanced advanced Materializing power that we have in order to create both Element and Child...Hey Mai?

It would of given Shizuru more screen time. A romance with the main character could strengthen the show's yuri. But nah, Shizuru belongs with Natsuki. They just feel right.
