I can say that Una is not Shizuru's mom.
I just don't get that vibe...

I just think that Sunrise wanted to draw the attention to her using someone similar looking to a character the audience liked: Shizuru.
She and Natsuki were always on the top favorite polls. So it was just a strategy.
It's like saying that one of the other of the columns in Sifr was Midori's mom. Since they are very alike.
Sunrise just wanted to hint in the relation the Ice Silver Crystal and the Bewitching Amethyst had had in the past. And how it somehow continues...

Now, regarding the pic Luu posted.
Was I the only one that noticed that Shizuru's boots in that pic, are the very same boots she wears as a column?
And if you look closer, the color palet and the clothes in general are a 'vintage' look of her clothes in Otome. Just sayin'...

And thankfully she's not a real blonde, as Nymphetamine said! But that light colored hair of hers is just the perfect match for her beautiful blood-red eyes. It really represents who she truely is : cold-looking but with such passion in her eyes.
Actually she's not an absolute beauty as Natsuki is but she has a mysterious charm and that unique smile, both pretty and a bit wary...
She's a fascinating woman to me, respectable and yet monstruous in the things she does for love...

Well, no need to say that I was completely fond of her from the very beginning ^-^

And nothing to do with the subject but I needed to say it : HER FRENCH VOICE IS JUST A MASSACRE!!! (as are those of all the other characters... T-T)

I've known you for a long time, Hoho-chan. Your fondness for Shizuru is perfectly justified. :'3 It goes way beyond just appearances for you and I respect that.

o.o; Mai-HiME/Otome had a French dub? Please don't say that, there are children around here. ;_;

Well, I can't remember any good french dub except for Miyazaki's movies (though the original version is still better)
Bleach, D Gray Man, Naruto, Ergo Proxy,... they're all better in japanese.

Hmm! Never tried watching Miyazaki films with the French audio. :) In their case, they better have good dubbings as more money is put into his epics.

I prefer manga to anime, indeed. I think manga versions are quite always better than anime versions, so I prefer watching original anime and not adaptations.
As for Claymore, I watched the first episode yesterday but I was not so satisfied. Maybe the manga is better too...? I should try.

Sadly, there are some anime titles that were created from scratch. So they don't have a manga, which is a shame given that are great series.
Imagine a Noir manga or a Madlax manga. That'd be awesome :3

Noir and Madlax were special, they didn't need a manga to gain success~ Wouldn't hurt to give them one now, but it's obviously "too late" in Bee Train's mind. Remember, before Mai-Multiverse existed, my original plan from 2009 was to make a Bee Train forum for the trilogy. XD It never fell through because A. There is already a successful Bee Train forum by the time 2010 rolled around and 2. Mai-HiME/Otome has more mythos, women and overall mystery.

Students I'm not sure. If you meant Una and Irma, I don't think it matters. They're both Columns and whether that has an effect on forbidden love between them, they don't seem to care. Una and her gang did violate the Otome way by trying to murder Fran, so yeah.

Maybe Sunrise wanted to show that all Ice Silver Crystal and Bewitching Smile Amethyst Otome were couples.
