Have you heard of it?? Sound like a cheap copy of HiME, but I am not sure about this :/

I found this in an other forum mostly a year ago. At this point I just thought that the continuations would have ended, but then I found this, lol. It isn't airing at all, so I wonder, if it will sometime o_o

I'm in the same boat as Meg. ^^; I've heard of it two years ago, but there were no further updates. So I stopped researching it. lol This is the forum that talked about it for a bit:

I doubt it's legit as an anime series, but whatever. lol I'll leave this thread here until we get more details. I do like the pic though. Since they mention Tomoe, I would like to see her new updated look. [:)] If it even exists. o.o

Oh, I heard about this around two years ago as well o.O The sketch styles seem so different compared to the original designs. Maybe this universe is a merge between HiME and the beta-MAiD?

But yes, I would love to see what Tomoe looks like as well! But I've heard differently about the Mai-series animation, I heard it was Destiny, not this 'Mao' HiME one.

And a major bump at that. After tons of speculation and concept arts from Sunrise websites, I've decided to finally track down the elusive Mao-HiME properly and ran across the light novel. There is only one light novel for Mao-HiME, which is more than enough for me. I still don't know what the full story is about. There is a complete translation process going on with us, so please be patient. For now, enjoy these quick snapshots of the novel and it's illustration contents:

So, we have a rip off of Touhou everywhere (Kitsune-Mao = Ran, Mai = Yukari/Youmu lovechild, clothes, Mikoto-cat = Chen), the cringing Queen's Blade ecchi, Utena rip offs (chest stabbing).

Tomoe has been officially made into a walking sack of mockery, probably with the extreme lack of character development, for the sake of the obvious ShizNatsu.

Honestly? I've absolutely given up, I'm not impressed with what Sunrise has done whatsoever, no, not at all, even if it does seem that Tomoe (who isn't behaving like the true Tomoe) and Mai finally have some form of connection (really, Mai? Really?).

Is there really any need for this random: "GROPED YOUR BOOBS, LOL! LOOK AT ME, I'M WEARING NOTHING, OH, I'LL SLASH YOUR CLOTHES OFF!!!"?

I won't be taking part in the Maoverse whatsoever.

The Mai Series is officially dead to me, and I'm already on the verge of leaving this fandom for obvious reasons as soon as I've finished Rystel.

What's up with ShizNat here? They look like antagonists... And they've made a drastic change looking at it.

Whatever the SUNRISE had in mind, they sure make it a surprising one. It seems like SUNRISE intentionally wants another indirect sequel to the Mai-series.
But, Mao-HiME needs some love too. It sure had changed the characters to a different level, and crossed another world...

It's as if all the concepts they had for the original Mai Hime are slowly taking on their own life. That's what all these AU's feel like to me, anyway. I can't really say more until I've read the whole thing, but... what the fack? ^^;

Erstin... You were used as fanservice before in the Otome manga, but at least you had some dignity there. This is just bad. She's one of my favorite characters from Otome because of the shit she had to go through and the sacrifice she made... What have they done to you! DX

Mao is officially the Sunrise's rip off of Touhou, Mao is an elder(?!) Kitsune, an incredibly powerful species of Youkai.

Notice how ridiculously similar they are?

When under the influence of extreme power a fox shall eventually evolve into a Kitune, like Ran here; Ran is however, a Kyuubi, this is because she already has nine tails (a Kitsune shall start off with one tail at the beginning of their life), so technically she is at least eight hundred years old, in meaning she'll loose her tails until she has only four and become the ultimate Kitsune, a Tenko.

I am incredibly saddened and unimpressed with the route Sunrise has taken. Seriously, a Touhou/Utena rip off with the straining cringing of Queen's Blade soft porn in the background? Are they serious? As I said, I'll be entirely avoiding this Maoverse until Sunrise proves it isn't just a desperate attempt. I find it insulting they'd need to copy the classics and one of the most famous Japanese gaming series.

But, perhaps it'll end up being a beta and they change things over? I hope so.

Also, I am sorry for the earlier post I had made, as some people may understand I was highly annoyed with everything at a whole to what has changed, this is another thing which I'm going to have to ignore, after all, so it is going to take a while for me to stop wanting to smack Sunrise across the back of the head - again - for the hundredth time.

...!! That's Sora Kake Girl! Or whatever that anime's called I forgot lol. Looks like Wolvy guessed that anime's relation right. 0_0 That pink haired girl was supposedly M-9 from Sifr but is now the main character of Sora Kake Girl. The shot with M-9 is actually a card game.

As I'm lazy to quote, anyone who's curious about Sora Kake Girl and it's relation to the Mai Series should look for it in Wolvy's Rystel thread. The one which she posts the renders she'd done and her plans. Not the one about official releases or the Mystery Project thread.

2. Then, there's Erstin, Nina, Arika and Mashiro from Mai-Otome, the three corals wearing their Garderobe uniforms and Mashiro... well, the same ol' wear, I guess.
3. Well, you pretty much see Shizuru and Natsuki with their HiME powers.

Just looking at this scans makes my head spin. It is a lot to take in... x__x
