Luu, I actually enjoyed the series of manga, but it was too short and missed alot of great stuff from previous entry in this franchise. It was way shorter than the two Mai-HiME and Otome manga series, which were 44 Chapters.

ALSO

DAMN GUY, Code Geass + Mai-HiME + Votoms = Case;IRVINE

Even tho it's not Mai-series related, but it's a character design from Mai-series taken into this series.

I know, Mai-HiME EXA is just a rushed version of the Mai-HiME anime series. But like I stated a while back, it was still SOMETHING, right? lol We're lucky to be getting anything new out of the Mai-Series to be honest, so we can't afford to bitch too much. You are right, it's much shorter than the previous HiME/Otome manga series. When EXA was announced, I thought for sure they would extend it as much as humanly possible.

Nice video! Always loved the character art. :)

Wow, to actually find a Czech translation of EXA (or any other manga) on international website is a rarity (I still read it in English though :D ).

UPDATE 5/22/2011

Mai-Multiverse has released brand new updated scans of Mai-HiME EXA Chapters 1-4, including touch ups on the rest of the chapters. Mai-HiME EXA is also released in ONE WHOLE collection package, so you don't have to download one chapter at a time. This is only for the English and Spanish translations so far, more to come in the future. Credit to our very own Krystal of Nol for the clean up job on these new scans, thank you very much! Well I'm just after reading EXA and to be honest, MEH, for something that is supposed to follow a different storyline from that of the anime there are so many things that look as if they have been cut & pasted from it: Mikoto killing Takumi (although this time she actually did kill him), and the final scene between Natsuki and Shizuru (just a location change) to name but a few.

I did like the art style for most of the manga though and Mikoto looked very funny when she was thinking of food at the carnival (Ch 05 pg13). I really didn't care for how Shizuru and The Obsidian Lord were drawn, Shizuru had lost all her sex appeal and the Obsidian Lord for some reason reminded me of Greed from the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime.

I honestly would have rather they had done a prequel about the original battle maidens rather than a "different storyline" to Mai-HiME anime, at least Shiho wasnt in it lol.

It's not supposed to be a different storyline. It's a revised version of the anime's storyline where the characterizations actually make sense.

You forgot Akane's attack on Mai being a frame-for-frame remake of Mai's first encounter with Bad Shiho in the TV series.

My-HiME EXA (舞-HiME EXA Mai-HiME EXA?) is a My-HiME Project's manga based on Sunrise's My-HiME series, following a storyline different from that of the anime. It was recently announced on the official website that confirms a date on January 27, 2010.

Yes this was from wiki so it may not be exactly accurate, but after reading this I was expecting the storyline of EXA to be something new

Only my opinion but I think shizuru looks quite generic in EXA compared to the original manga.

Well, I was reading Mai Hime EXA while texting my girlfriend (who is also a Mai Hime fan, but has not read EXA), so I figured I'd post my reaction to the EXA manga here and our little discussion about it. Spoilers ahoy!
