Summary: Set in the Shinigami technical school for weapon meisters, the series revolves around 3 groups of each a weapon meister and a human weapon. Trying to make the latter a "Death Scythe" and thus fit for use by the Shinigami, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch.
Soul Eater is an anime that centers around meisters and their weapons and their mission to collect 99 evil souls and 1 witch soul. Upon doing that the meister's weapons will become a Deathscythe, which is the highest title for a weapon. Maka, Soul Eater, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and Patty and Liz Thompson are the characters Soul Eater revolves around. Besides taking the time to gather souls these students of Shibusen defend Death City from some of the most powerful of creatures while still attending school and trying to become stronger. Thoughts: Half of my screen name is based solely on the fact I am indeed a fan of Soul Eater. Not gonna lie. This is one of favorite series ever and one of the very (and I mean select) few modern Shonens I can stand.
I really love the atmosphere and the cast of characters set in this world! :)
I like that the main lead is a female (and voiced by Laura Bailey in the dub!). I am like Maka in real life (when my Haruhi personality doesn't take over ). The series also seems to be something created from the mind of Tim Burton himself and I get some Beetlejuice vibes when watching this series. I love the anime. Admittedly, I'm not caught up to the manga, but I intend to someday (and that'll be a while since it's serialized monthly in Japan like FMA was).
Also, who else likes Medusa in this series? Though, being like Maka in personality I should hate her, but I really enjoy the character and her manipulative nature. She's bar none the definitive villain in this series.
Sorry if anyone was intend to make a thread. I held off for the longest time, but I HAD to make it! And I'm glad I did, too.
So, thoughts? Anyone out there like this series?

You mustn't have been on the forum lately, because the BIGGEST Medusa fan this side of the planet is on this site...but I'll let him introduce himself and his love for this charry when he eventually sees this thread XDSoulEaterHaruhis0s wrote:Also, who else likes Medusa in this series? Did someone say...MEDUSA-SAMA?!
To me, Medusa is one of the coolest villains ever thought up by the Japanese mind. Her character is deceiving, cunning, intelligent and quite thought provoking. Her persuasive tactics on Stein made me feel like switching sides as a viewer, which is not easy for an anime to do. I prefer the good guys over villains any day, but Medusa makes it so deliciously enticing to go along with her plans to revive the Kishin.
Plus she's incredibly hot...in that demented type way. X3 She'd probably just bite my privates off~
Soul Eater as a whole is a good series without any boring moments unlike those OTHER Shonen anime. The whole look of it's universe is incredibly unique with that, as you pointed out "Tim Burton" feel. Soul Eater is considerably smaller than it's other competitors, and that's why there's so much focus on character. Just when you think a series could develop and headline someone as passive as Tsubaki, they managed to pull it off in a two part episode with her go up against her brother, Masamune. Respect for Tsubaki grew so considerably for me, that I was convinced she is just as, if not more powerful than Black Star. Then again, those two are best a a team. The whole point of the series is resonance. :3 Which brings me to my next point...Maka and Soul.
Maka is the classic good heroine who will eventually become the greatest of all the Meisters, but is given the most difficult road to navigate. Soul is a good weapon/dude, faithful to the end as he proved to Stein by sheer will.

S-S-Soul Eater?!
One of the anime series that I fell in love with. Got a hang-over with this series for two months before watching Blood+.
Soul Eater is cool. 'Nuff said.
The villains perfectly fits to the sort-of simple storyline, with things that ought to make you say "WHAT?!" To tell everybody honestly, the sexiest villain that I could ever find (with all the disguised, foolproof aura) is Medusa. She is a cunning little witch even as a child.
*squeals as she remember Medusa wearing pumpkin shorts*
The protagonists are real classics, and I'm pretty much amused with Death the Kid's OCD that usually gets in the way.

Re: Soul Eater (anime, manga, etc.) discussion thread
I did have fun watching this series.
I loved the concept and the characters were more than awesome.
I did fell in love with some of them, specially the ladies. *3*
It had a good balance between humor and action. Plus the silliness of Excalibur was just cracking. XD
I really thank the friend that make me watch this series.
I even thanked him with a small figurine of Black Star. :3

Dude, the ladies are so awesome in this series. But aside from Black Star, the guys didn't piss me off that much. They seemed well rounded and relevant to the plot unlike most anime/manga. And Medusa...don't get me started or I'll start bleeding all over the floor.
Excalibur.... ...uh.....RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!
